Pokémon is a successful and legendary franchise that originally began its, still eternal, journey with an RPG-style video game. As it became popular around the world, so that it is recognized almost everywhere on the planet, it expanded into other entertainment media such as TV series, manga, movies, card games, etc. And now, a few days ago, a publication was shared on the X social network of the user wana (ワナ or @game7400) in which you can observe, the small steps of the cute maritime Pokémon Lapras, filling the hearts of fans with tenderness.

In this short but captivating footage, the iconic sea pokémon can be seen walking through the streets of the city of Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture. He can be seen wearing a striped scarf of cool blue colors or shades, from which, in addition, hangs a pin that says his name in Japanese and flutters, as he crosses the characteristic Japanese path of the public road. Of course, he attracts the attention of the people around him who seek to take pictures of him or make video recordings with their cameras.
The publication on Twitter/X of wana has a large number of comments from fans, who were surprised by the arrival of a Pokémon to their streets, in addition to the fact that a water type that usually only moves through the sea does it by land has had a funny impact on many. Among these messages shared in the form of comments we see many reactions, such as a user who mentioned how a few years ago something similar had happened with the release of the renowned Pokemon GO or another that highlighted the movement of Lapras itself, which seemed to be crawling.
This curious and adorable collaboration has an explanation and it is that, in 2019, Lapras was chosen as the tourist ambassador of Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Since then, many of events, parades, exhibitions and tourist activities have been held inviting the general population to tour and enjoy their stay in the region. This initiative was aimed at boosting tourism and highlighting the attractions of Lapras (known as Laplace in Japanese).
Some of the activities of this exciting project included the “Laplace Rap” music video and the “Laplace Café” themed attraction featuring unique menu items inspired by Lapras and other Pokémon. Themed trains and boats were also developed to travel throughout the prefecture for a memorable travel experience.
For those who do not know much about the world of Pokémon, they have different official characteristics, being that Lapras in its case is placed within the Pokédex, which is the record of these beings, at number 131, in addition to its type is ice and water, which is characterized by moving through areas that have a lot of the latter element. In addition, in its classification we see that it is a cargo or transport pokémon, thanks to its height of 2.5 meters and weight of 220 kg, which has allowed it to obtain this distinction, including, its ability for combat is the carapace armor, demonstrating that it is more a defensive pokémon than an attack pokémon.
Lapras has a kind heart, being that it rarely fights. It has a high level of intelligence that allows it to understand people’s words. When he is in a good mood, he sings with a beautiful voice. It loves swimming in the ocean with people and other pokémon on its back.
