Pokémon has left a huge legacy in the entertainment industry, but we must not forget that its beginnings were in the video games Fire Red and Leaf Green in the now distant 1996 for the Game Boy handhelds. Since 29 years ago, they progressively made a name for themselves in the gaming and RPG industry, progressively releasing titles of the same genre for Nintendo consoles until reaching their latest pair of games, Scarlett and Violet for the Switch hybrid. After dozens of rumors of new Pokémon titles and especially a sequel to Legends: Arceus: ZA, came their long-awaited annual event that left surprising previews of the future of the franchise.
Projects presented make Pokémon’s future look very promising
In just under 20 minutes that are well worth checking out, the company showed us how hopeful its future looks. From series, mobile games, updates and, of course, a more solid and official preview of the second part of Legends: Arceus, Nintendo excited everyone in their community with hopeful news that will be released throughout this 2025.
Concierge Pokemon
The first announcement was that of “Concierge Pokémon”, a series based on the Pokémon universe, but in augmented reality. Set on a tropical island and more specifically inside a hotel, this new series will tell the story of Haru, the new concierge and her best friend Psyduck who will live unique adventures in this paradise. This series will be broadcast exclusively on the Netflix streaming platform, it will feature 9 episodes and among some of its main pokémon we will see: Arcanine, Shinx, Corpish, Furret, Wooper, Luxray and Dragonite, although obviously many surprises await us. The series will be released next September.
Epic legendary pokémon arrives in Pokémon GO
Perhaps one of the best titles of the Game Freak franchise was the Black | White released for the Nintendo DS for its enormous graphic quality, its “initials”, for launching 4 different versions of the game in conjunction with the fourth generation and having an epic repertoire of legendary creatures that included one of the best to date: Kyurem. Kyurem will have a brief appearance on March 1 and 2 in free raids in Pokémon GO, in its classic white version and in a black version. Likewise, raids will be launched to obtain the impressive Victini and the much-loved Maloetta, both legendaries from Black | White.
Impressive upgrades for UNITE
UNITE is one of the most symbolic cooperative games for the Pokémon community and important updates are coming for its users. First of all, the Maremagno Stadium will be back for a limited time, from Thursday, February 27 to Wednesday, February 12, there will also be a new battle mode called “Fight to 500”, including the “AEOS” function and in which unique rewards can be obtained, in this mode, the goal is to reach 500 points before the rivals. In addition, 3 new pocket monsters arrive in the game: Raichu of Alola, Alcremie and the legendary Suicuine, finally, you can get a small reward by redeeming the code. POKEDAY25.
Pokemon TCG Mobile receives new cards
The Pocket Monsters TCG has become in recent years a huge sensation among young and old, arriving mainly in a physical version and in recent years getting a mobile version. The TCG of the franchise is characterized by having all kinds of cards and being valued at all kinds of prices depending on the rarity. The mobile or “Pocket” version will receive an incredible new type of cards with almost all Pokémon called “Triumphant Light” and will be launched as a software expansion from February 28th for the most fans of this trend that seems to never come to an end.
Pokémon ChamPions
From a very young age, fans of Pokémon video games have, in addition to the purpose of training and raising their teammates, to prove that their team is the most powerful. The only way to consolidate as the best is in The League; however, its conquest ends up being easy. Champions will be a completely different challenge, since it will allow its users to measure themselves face to face with any other and thus prove that their team is truly the strongest. The video game is already in the development stage and the titles supported so far will be Pokémon GO, Scarlett and Violet, although it is expected that all those available on Switch can be involved in Pokémon Champions.
Future projects in Latin Spanish
In a brief press release, Tomás Cortijo introduced himself and announced that upcoming projects, mainly videogames, will be available with Latin American dubbing. The first title announced was Champions, since being a worldwide videogame, this functionality was required. Subsequently, he mentions that a tenth dubbing will be added to the 9 that had been leaked in Legends: ZA and it will be the Latin one. To close with a flourish, he mentions that the TCG of the franchise will begin to be serialized with the Latin American descriptions in order to attract new fans to the franchise.
Pokémon Legends: ZA
Pokémon Legends: ZA is set in the city of Luminalia (based in Paris), just like Paldea which was based in Spain, Luminalia will be the largest Kalos region so there will be many places to explore in this open world, besides being full of new technologies and it is intended to develop a plan for humans and Pokémon to live in peace. Among the main characters in the game are: A.Z. The administrator of an old hotel that will be very important in the development of the story, Viona and Airén in charge of the project and Vinci or Civi the protagonists from which we will have to choose one.
Their initials will be Chikorita, Totodile (second generation) and Tepig (fifth generation). The hunting mechanics will be the same: catch them by weakening or stealth, and will include a mechanic of climbing buildings never seen before to have a wider exploration. The game has already been confirmed for the end of 2025.
