In the past hours Sony PlayStation made the announcement of the presentation event of the PlayStation 5 Pro by Mark Cerny and in a live broadcast through the official YouTube where the announcement of the arrival of the new console by Sony was made, which will further increase the capabilities of its current console. In addition, it was announced the price of the console and the release date, which is closer than expected.
Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro set to revolutionize the console market
In a presentation of approximately 10 minutes, Mark Cerny showed us all the technical features that the PS5 Pro will offer to those who purchase this luxury console. One of the main and most attractive is that in all aspects it will be twice as powerful as the PS5 Base or “Fat” launched in 2020.
The event began with a presentation of the performance of some “classic” video games on the PS5 Base, a console which continues to be excellent and will not be left behind in the console generation. However, as explained by Cerny, these consoles have a small problem, and that is that the fidelity mode and the performance mode available in all current generation video games affect the FPS, reducing from 60 to 30 to the point of vitiating and affecting the pixels of each video game.
The technical specifications presented at the event seek to put an end to this and the technical features that Playstation 5 Pro will have will be three: 1) More powerful GPU, 2) An “Advanced Ray Tracing” and 3) An “AI-enhanced graphics scaling” which will enhance and revolutionize the way gamers have known all PlayStations so far.
The upgraded GPU will offer up to 67% more compute units than the PS5 Slim and Base and 28% more RAM. Overall, thanks to this new GPU, the gaming experience becomes more comfortable and smoother due to its 45% higher rendering compared to its previous versions, giving in total a double power to its sisters released in 2020 and 2023.
Advanced Ray Tracing is another interesting feature for those who demand quality in next-gen consoles: it now offers more reflections, more details in backgrounds, more details in shadows, and the PlayStation 5 Pro ray tracing will offer 100 to 200% higher speed during gameplay than the current PS5 consoles.
AI-Driven Upscaling” or ‘AI-Driven Upscaling’ is perhaps what got all the plaudits, where artificial intelligence is used to analyze pixel by pixel and then add to each game the exact level of detail it requires, more specifically in exclusives. Mark Cerny and the creators named the AI-Driven Upscaling as “PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution” or “PSSR”, the flawed motion graphics that can be perceived in fidelity mode will no longer be a problem thanks to this next-generation technology.
Among other very special and superior features offered by the PlayStation 5 PRO is a 16 GB RAM at 448 GB/s, its SSD will be 2 TB with an AMD RDNA 2 Microarchitecture, its connectivity will be WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1 and an audio with Tempest 3D technology and will not have a smart reader.
Finally, the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro will be launched on November 7 at a cost of $699.99.
