One of the most surprising announcements of the past Sony’s State Of Play was the arrival of “Palworld” for PlayStation 5 consoles in its base, Slim and future PS5 Pro versions. However, in the midst of a controversial lawsuit in recent days by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company towards Pocketpair responsible for this successful indie, “Palworld” was not released for Japan, which disappointed millions in the country of the rising sun.
Palworld blocked from coming to PlayStation in Japan on demand
Palworld had only arrived on Xbox Series X|S consoles and until September 24 there was no sign of a PlayStation release, however, at some point its arrival was imminent, the indie title from the Pocketpair company was an unexpected success in sales. And now, in the State of Play it was confirmed that the game would finally be coming to Sony consoles, although the bad news was for fans in Japan and is that due to the recent lawsuit filed by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company to the developers of Palworld, this would not be available to those lands.
The lawsuit for “patent infringement” was filed in Tokyo, where remuneration is demanded for “damages to intellectual property” better known as “plagiarism”. This was filed on September 19 and only 5 days later Pocketpair made the official announcement of the arrival of Palworld on PlayStation 5, symbolizing the blocking of the launch of the indie game in Japan, which to date keeps the country’s gamers indignant without having an estimated date for the launch of the game in that territory.
The preview of “The Pokémon With Guns” at the State Of Play on September 24 was one of the ones that caused the most reactions from the public. This meant, on the one hand, the end of the exclusivity it had for almost 10 months on Xbox, with an incredible trailer that takes advantage of the PS5 graphics engine, the enormous expectations regarding the Dual Sense support and finally for those who were aware of the demand. Now it only remains to wait the passing of the weeks or months to know what will be not only the demand, but also the launch of Palworld in that part of the world or if the problems will continue for the players.
