Overwatch 2 is used to the fact that every season, not something super cool, but this time the theme is very interesting, as Overwatch 2 Season 13 has a theme that goes hand in hand with the dates it will be active. Incredibly, Blizzard has chosen a seasonal theme of sorcery and magic, which works perfectly with Halloween thanks to the new skins that come with the Battle Pass.
Overwatch 2 Season 13 looks exciting
For this season 13 of Overwatch 2 we’ve got a lot of stuff, so you’re going to have to get out your credit card, as the main content for this season is the Mythic Spellbinder Widowmaker skin, transforming the sniper into a witch that fits in nicely with the Halloween season. This Widowmaker skin evolves as players level up, giving them new custom animations and visual effects. When you max out the skin, your hat will light up to symbolise your mastery of witchcraft.
In addition, other Overwatch 2 Season 13 Halloween themed skins are available in the Season 13 Premium Battle Pass. For example, the Swamp Witch Ana, Necrotic Witch Junker Queen, Slayer Witch Sojourn, Gnome Torbjorn, and Monstrous Sigma skins can be unlocked through 80 reward tiers. But as we keep repeating, this Season 13 is packed with content, as it introduces Golden Aspects for the game’s mythical skins.
Let’s not forget that for this Overwatch 2 Season 13, we are being introduced to old and new modes to keep a bit of balance. An example would be the much loved co-op mode, Junkenstein’s Revenge and so does Bride’s Wrath, both of which will have new challenges, enemies and bosses. These classic game modes will be available throughout the season.
A Halloween Horror event will introduce a new game mode called Junkenstein’s Laboratory. Unlike other Halloween themed events, Junkenstein’s Laboratory is a PvP mode that brings mutation-based gameplay to the title, where players can select different cards to change their hero’s abilities to suit their play style.
You still think that’s all, well no, as four maps will be getting a major change in Season 13 to improve the player experience. The maps Blizzard is changing are: Circuit Royale, Dorado, Havana and Numbani. The change to these maps will mainly focus on the attacking side’s spawn area.
Since it is all too easy to rack up casualties and keep attackers pinned to one location on these maps, these updates will add new cover locations, entrances and exits, elevators and more to give them a chance. These tweaks will help balance the game and improve the player experience a little.
But it doesn’t end there, as from October 17th until October 30th, a mega collaboration with the anime/manga My Hero Academia will be taking place in the shop by implementing character-based skins, such as Tracer as Deku, Reinhardt as All Might, Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki, Kiriko as Himiko Toga and Juno as Uravity.
This is all the content that started this Overwatch 2 Season 13, yes as we repeat it’s just the beginning, so no doubt more is to come in the span of this season 13, for now enjoy and have adventures in Overwatch 2 available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. Don’t forget to purchase your premium battle pass and have fun with your favourite heroes from the franchise.
