As some of you may remember, last June it was announced in a special event that the movie Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom (Overlord Movie 3: Sei Oukoku-hen) would be released in theaters in Japan on September 13 in its IMAX version and September 20 in its regular version.
It has been a few weeks since this news was released and fortunately for fans who have been waiting for more details about the new Overlord anime movie, new updates about the film have been released, highlighting its length: 2 hours approximately. Something to note is that this news was confirmed by Kazufumi Kikushima, the producer in charge of the film project, through a press conference.
Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom movie will be more than two hours long
Another important detail to note is that at the “Crunchyroll Presents Kadokawa Anime” panel held at the “AnimeExpo 2024” event, an 8-minute preview of the movie Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom was presented, something exclusive for fans who attended the event. As previously mentioned, although the film will be officially released on September 20, it will be possible to see it on IMAX screens on September 13. It is also worth mentioning that Crunchyroll will screen “Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom” in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
The returning cast members include Satoshi Hino as Ainz, Yumi Hara as Albedo and Masayuki Kato as Demiurge. The main theme song for the film will be performed by “OxT” and will be titled “WHEELER-DEALER“.
The production team consists of Naoyuki Itou, who returns to direct, has been part of the script along with Yukie Sugawara and has also collaborated with the musical score of the “Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom” film to be produced by the animation studio Madhouse, Satoshi Tasaki returns as character designer and chief animation director. Fumiyuki Go returns as sound director at Bit Grooove Promotion, Shuji Katayama from Team-MAX is present to compose the music at Kadokawa and the latter with the help of its subsidiary “Kadokawa Animation” will be in charge of distributing the film.
