If there are two anime series that became extremely popular in the last decade, these are Overlord and The Seven Deadly Sins (Also known as Nanatsu no Taizai) Although they are quite different in some aspects, such as the fact that one is a dark fantasy parody Isekai and the other is a conventional battle shonen, they also coincide in many others. This led to them sharing a large number of fans who will be happy to know all about this new collaboration: It has just been announced that both series will cross over in the mobile game The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross through 4 guest characters.
4 characters from Overlord come to The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross
As announced on the official site of The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, 4 new characters originating from the Overlord series will arrive to the popular mobile and PC game in its next update. These are: The protagonist Ainz Ooal Gown, his crush and favorite waifu from the series Albedo, the vampire Shalltear Bloodfallen and the loyal insect-like guardian Cocytus. In keeping with the Nanatsu no Taizai theme, each will come with their own special attacks, equipment seals and their own sacred item: Ainz with his scepter, Albedo with his Ginnungagap wand, Shalltear with his parasol and Cocytus with his sword and halberd.
All these Overlord characters will be added to the game’s gacha cycle, so you will have to depend on your own luck if you want to get them. But of course this is not all, since from October 29 to November 25 you will be able to use them to take part in the Battle of Overlord’s subjugation of the knights against the demonic beast Keraku. On the other hand, there will also be a special bingo that will cross both franchises, where you will be able to get several rewards for the rest of the game. And as if all that wasn’t enough, guest characters will also appear in the collaboration-themed Underground Labyrinth.
If that’s not enough, you can also win various prizes for accessing The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross during the days of the event. You can tell that this collaboration is a major event for this game, as it comes with a lot of content that returning users will enjoy. The most surprising part is how well Overlord’s art style blends with Nanatsu no Taizai’s. They almost don’t even look like two different series! While this isn’t the first time Grand Cross has done a collaboration with another franchise, this is certainly one of their most interesting so far.
The crossover event with Overlord will be coming to The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross starting with its next update, which will take place on October 26 in its Japanese version. While the rest of the world will have to wait a few days, as that version of the game will be updated on October 31.
