Otakus don’t want more “ecchi” in anime

One of the most popular resources of anime and Otaku culture in general is the “fan service” and the “Ecchi” genre. That genre that shows us the most impressive and richest scenes of our favorite “waifus”, a genre that at this time is not at its best in the industry and today once again the genre causes a debate on whether it is right to continue implementing these scenes that “crave” when the moment in the anime does not deserve it.

Otaku claim that “forced ecchi” detracts from the seriousness and quality of anime!

It turns out that in X before Twitter has gone viral a publication of the user called “asano082” where he criticizes the otakus and the “forced ecchi”. In the first post the user explains that he was watching with his brother an anime where the girls were shown with great attributes, provocative angles and that he was talking about Yuri situations, something that he did not like at all, but that his brother convinced him to give it a chance until the third episode, because “the story was very good”.

In the second post the user commented that in the second episode the story was starting to flow and he was finding it interesting, so he could leave aside this “ecchi” theme, but his surprise did not last long, because immediately a “fan service” scene was shown where the girls were completely stripped of their clothes.

In the third post, before the comments that criticized his brother, the user said that he did not force him to watch this type of anime and at the same time reflected that many otaku do not question the reason for this type of situations in anime, because it has been happening for a long time to such a degree that it has become normalized. Finally, the user believes that many works lose their quality and seriousness by including this type of forced “ecchi” scenes, something he considers “unnecessary and repetitive”.

The reactions were not long in coming from fans about this post, as the vast majority agreed that this type of forced scenes were not to their liking either, as they made no sense and did not add anything to the story in general. Other Otakus stated that they do like “ecchi” but that anime should have this label present when showing scenes like this and simply not show them for the sake of showing, since many watched anime accompanied by friends or family.

Something very curious was that many otaku also agreed that these forced scenes were what prevented them from watching their favorite series in their living room, because they always had to be alert in case any “inappropriate scene” happened. Undoubtedly a very interesting discussion, as it shows us what Japanese fans think about this kind of scenes.

Tell us in the comments section what you think about this new discussion, if you also agree that these “forced ecchi” scenes should be eliminated in all anime and only leave this for anime of this genre or if, on the contrary, this type of situation is what gives this special and unique touch to the anime that many otakus like so much.
