It is well known that the love life of the Otaku gives a lot to talk about, our tastes that are mainly based on anime, manga and video games, are not something that many people share or simply is not something that is said openly. That’s why it’s often a bit complicated to find a person with whom you can share your tastes without feeling judged.
Otakus share their lousy dating experiences
Dating apps can be a good option to meet people and if you are an Otaku it seems that this idea is quite viable. The experience of dating apps is an adventure in itself, you don’t know the kind of people you can run into and just like in some of the experiences we will share with you later. Meeting these types of people can be interesting or even traumatic.
Some Otakus through Twitter shared with us their funny, strange and disastrous dates, let’s read a bit of their experiences:
“I met a man who, in his profile showed that he was a skilled conversationalist, which made me feel more confident about arranging a meeting. By the time we met the result was different, he was simply a lover of hook machines (the kind where you pull out the stuffed animals), the good thing is that he was a very talkative person”.
Another experience comes from user @ma_co_chi and reads as follows:
“We decided to meet at a place to eat, we walked to the place, which was too cheap to be true, but we didn’t pay much attention to it, so we kept talking normally. When it was time to pay, we realized the truth, we were in a fraudulent restaurant, as the bill was 400,000 yen, while my companion was perplexed looking at the bill, I just paid my 2,000 yen and left. He then told me that I needed to call the police to get out of this.”
Undoubtedly, the following experiences of our fellow Otaku compatriots are pretty crazy, they go like this:
“He was very educated, high-income and had a good personality, but on the second date I realized he had cavities and almost no teeth, so it was over.”
When someone seriously said, “If we start dating, I want to do a ritual where we soak each other’s scent in a nice handkerchief and exchange it.”
If one day you think you had a bad date, remember that other Otaku already had a worse one, now these curious experiences remain as anecdotes that are already funny for us and for them. Finding a person with whom to share our tastes can be a bit difficult and that is why we can fall into these strange situations.
As I said before, for Otakus it is a bit complicated to find someone, among us we do not like physical contact, we practically do not like to go out and there may be people who think that our tastes are somewhat strange.
