The respective official media for the anime adaptation of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s popular manga, Oshi no Ko, have shared with the public a visual image featuring the beautiful Ruby Hoshino and Mem-Cho, members of the B-Komachi group.
This fascinating illustration aims to commemorate the upcoming arrival of Christmas in Japan, which is reflected in its curious theme that is full of Christmas elements, with Ruby and Mem-Cho sporting a dazzling Santa-inspired outfit designed especially for the occasion. In addition, the official Oshi no Ko anime media have wished fans a Merry Christmas!

The second season of the television anime “Oshi no Ko” premiered in Japan on July 3 of this year and consisted of a total of 13 episodes. As in the first season, the renowned animation studio Doga Kobo was in charge of its production.

Information about Oshi no Ko:
Oshi no Ko is a drama genre manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Kuzu no Honkai). The work began its publication in Shueisha Publishing House’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020 and ended last November 14 this year.
In addition, Shueisha has collected the manga in a total of 16 compilation volumes and a few weeks ago reported that Oshi no Ko surpassed the incredible figure of 20 million copies in circulation. Due to the good reception from the public, an anime adaptation for the manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari was announced for production in June 2022.
The anime series corresponding to the manga Oshi no Ko premiered on television in Japan on April 12, 2023 and consists of 2 seasons (24 episodes in total). The series was produced by the animation studio Doga Kobo (Plastic Memories, Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?, Gabriel DropOut) and was legally broadcast in the West through the HIDIVE platform.
The anime Oshi no Ko will have a Third Season
At the end of the broadcast of the second season of the anime “Oshi no Ko”, the official media of the series announced the production of a third season. This new installment of the series does not yet have a premiere date, but more details are expected to be announced as the months go by.
The anime Oshi no Ko has the following description: The series’ story features a unique focus on showbiz and fanaticism, and in it, we are introduced to Ai Hoshino, a talented and beautiful 16-year-old idol who is adored by her fans. However, behind her image as a pure young maiden, a dark and complex side is hidden.
Gorou Amemiya, a rural gynecologist and fervent admirer of Ai, is caught in a twist of fate when the pregnant idol arrives at his hospital. Although Gorou promises to provide her with a safe delivery, her encounter with a mysterious figure results in her own premature death, or so he believes.
When Gorou opens her eyes, she finds herself in the arms of her beloved idol, but there is one surprising detail: she has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, Ai’s newborn son. With his world completely upended, Gorou faces a new challenge as he discovers that show business is full of obstacles and that talent alone does not guarantee success.
On his journey to protect Ai’s smile, Gorou enlists the help of an eccentric and unexpected ally. Together, they embark on an adventure filled with intrigue, rivalries and unimaginable challenges. As Gorou enters the world of show business from a unique and transformative perspective, he is faced with difficult decisions and questions the boundaries of love and loyalty.
