During this summer season 2024, the continuation of one of the most emblematic series of recent years, Oshi no Ko, premiered, and thanks to this, the networks have become a place where fans can comment on each new episode, as well as generate content such as illustrations. And in this aspect, a Twitter/X user surprised everyone, since he created an image alluding to a well-known scene from another anime, Monogatari, where Karen Araragi and her brother Koyomi have a “whimsical” moment with a toothbrush, in this case starring Aqua and Ruby.

Through his Twitter/X, the renowned artist @khyleri published a new image of the ones he usually has us used to, focused on the world of anime, but always with a twist in the plot that surprises, either by its comic side, “whimsical” or even controversial in several cases, being the chosen in this case Oshi no Ko. The artist sought to allude to one of the most iconic scenes in the world of anime, belonging in this case to Monogatari and how the Araragi brothers have a moment of the most “delicious” with a toothbrush, now played by Ruby and Aqua.
To give a little more context to this image we have to know the scene of Monogatari, and this is about how Koyomi Araragi cleans the teeth of his sister Karen with a brush, something that might seem normal or not very out of place, but it is that it was taken by the most “whimsical” side. And it is that in the best H style, the movements, camera approaches and other condiments helped this moment to increase the levels in terms of “rikura” is concerned, so it is remembered in the communities, more if we take into account that they were a few seconds to take it to more, even being siblings.
With this, @khyleri presented us with what would be the end of the scene, as originally the siblings are interrupted, being that in the image the artist used Kana Arima as this turning point, which enters in a snatched way to the room showing a picture of the two of them “kissing”, or at least Ruby to Aqua. While in the second panel Kana is angry, but embarrassed, where we can see a bit of the Hoshino brothers’ hair, highlighting here the infamous toothbrush and telling this aforementioned story. Also, as an addition, we can see on Kana’s legs, which present a strange liquid coming out of them.
As expected with this type of publications, it was the fans who echoed the most, being that in most of the messages we can see how everyone understood the reference to Monogatari in Oshi no Ko, and most of the publications of this user stand out for having hidden messages of all kinds. But with this illustration there was not much to look for and the comments were not long in coming, such as those who talk about how one of the most iconic scenes of the story has returned or that it is a good way to relive the story for those new to this world.
Oshi no Ko, this one introduces us in the beginning to Ai Hoshino, the most talented idol of the moment and with a more than bright future, since she is only 16 years old, but behind the beautiful artist hides a young girl who has a much darker life. At such a young age, she becomes pregnant, and the person in charge of taking care of her is Gorou Amemiya, a specialized doctor who is also a fervent admirer of her work, but he always maintains a high degree of professionalism, although things will not turn out as expected.
At the very moment when Gorou was going to perform the necessary maneuvers for Ai to have her babies, the doctor suffers a fatal accident, but to his surprise, he manages to open his eyes, although he was not saved from his fate, but reincarnated in Aquamarine Hoshino, one of Ai’s children. Although he is not the only one to do so, he will now have a sister, Ruby Hoshino, who also hides a big secret that involves Gorou. This one, now turned into Aqua, will discover how dark the world of idols is, getting even more involved after a terrible event that will change his life.
