Undoubtedly an excellent news that thanks to the good looks given in its first trailer leaves all Oshi no Ko fans very calm. Especially those who from the first moment it became official that “Oshi no Ko” would have a new live action project, began to speculate about whether the franchise was at risk of having some stain on its very successful career. This was due to a bad adaptation to a new format that in recent years has been characterized by not having very good adaptations.
“Oshi no Ko” is a manga with comedy, drama, music, supernatural themes and life stories, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari whose serialization began on April 23, 2020 in the magazine “Shūkan Young Jump” of the publishing house Shūeisha. So far the work has 14 compilation volumes in “tankōbon” format, its success earned it that in June 2022 an anime adaptation was announced by the studio “Doga Kobo”, which premiered on April 12, 2023. A second season is scheduled to premiere on July 3, 2024.
“Oshi no Ko” immerses us in the life of Ai Hoshino a very popular idol whose career is cut short by a tragic event, this situation will also mark the life of her twins Ruby and Aqua, the latter who as she grows up develops a plan to expose the dark side that the idol industry hides. Likewise, he will also try to unmask those responsible for the tragedy of his mother in a kind of revenge whose development will not be without moments full of light comedy, a lot of drama and above all some reflections.
