The moment the anime adaptation of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s manga ‘Oshi no Ko‘ started its broadcasting both on Japanese television and also different streaming platforms, the public showed their interest in its curious story that introduced the idol “Ai Hoshino” as the protagonist of the first episode that had a duration of more than 90 minutes, gaining a huge repercussion within the otaku community.
It has been more than 1 year since the first episode of the anime series ‘Oshi no Ko‘ was released, and the official media have decided to celebrate this special event with a big surprise for the fans and it has been confirmed that next June 7 there will be a screening in theaters in Japan of an extended version of the first episode of the anime, which will feature a Dolby Cinema format, for two consecutive weeks.

Additionally, the official website for the popular anime adaptation of the Oshi no Ko manga has promoted this screening with a special video, which presents the public with several scenes from the first episode of the series.
This is also a good opportunity to increase the hype of fans who are waiting for the premiere of the second season of the series, which is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July of this year.
But that’s not all, as the official media of the anime “Oshi no Ko” has also presented to the public a special visual to celebrate with the fans of the franchise its first anniversary. The visual will star the characters Ai Hoshino, Aqua Hoshino and Ruby Hoshino.
Oshi no Ko is a drama genre manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Kuzu no Honkai). The work began publication in Shueisha Publishing House’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020. In addition, Shueisha has released a total of 13 compilation volumes to date. Due to the good reception from the public, an anime adaptation was announced for production in June 2022.
The anime series corresponding to the Oshi no Ko manga premiered on television in Japan on April 12, 2023 and consists of 11 episodes. The series was produced by the animation studio Doga Kobo (Plastic Memories, Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?, Gabriel DropOut) and was legally broadcast in the West through the HIDIVE platform.
“Oshi no Ko” presents a story full of surprises and unexpected twists and turns. With a unique focus on show business and fanaticism, “Oshi no Ko” introduces us to Ai Hoshino, a talented and beautiful 16-year-old idol who is adored by her fans. However, behind her image as a pure young maiden hides a dark and complex side.
Gorou Amemiya, a rural gynecologist and fervent admirer of Ai, is caught in a twist of fate when the pregnant idol arrives at his hospital. Although Gorou promises to provide her with a safe delivery, her encounter with a mysterious figure results in her own untimely death, or so he believes.
When Gorou opens her eyes, she finds herself in the arms of her beloved idol, but there is one surprising detail: she has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, Ai’s newborn son. With his world completely upended, Gorou faces a new challenge as he discovers that show business is full of obstacles and that talent alone does not guarantee success.
On his journey to protect Ai’s smile, Gorou enlists the help of an eccentric and unexpected ally. Together, they embark on an adventure filled with intrigue, rivalries and unimaginable challenges. As Gorou enters the world of show business from a unique and transformative perspective, he is faced with difficult decisions and questions the boundaries of love and loyalty.
