The anime Oshi no Ko continues to be talked about even a few months after the end of its first season, being that the release of the second season is very close, so many people are always attentive to comment on any kind of news based on the popular series. Some time ago we reported the news that a fan had taken this love for the anime to other levels, since after being spoiled by a co-worker about the story, he would attack him fiercely, being that now it was notified that the case had closed, with an interesting ending.
Fan who attacked fellow fan for telling Oshi no Ko story to him will not be released
Oshi no Ko, a few weeks ago, got into trouble with the law because of the actions of a fan. This work became so popular after the release of its anime that it managed to reach a much larger audience that was not yet familiar with this title, even captivating people who are not necessarily part of the young population. This work managed to catch even 50-year-old men with its story, and it was just one of them who had a mishap with the Japanese law.
This curious case related to Oshi no Ko, took place on the other side of the world, in the country of the rising sun, Japan, specifically in the city of Uji, in the Kyoto prefecture. It was there that a 50-year-old man, who is an official of the Legal Affairs Office, was arrested on suspicion of physical assault on a colleague for divulging certain spoilers related to the manga. Clearly, this worker is too much of a fan of this title, so much so that it took him to the point of assaulting a subordinate.
And now, on June 4, 2024, the Kyoto District Prosecutor’s Office decided not to prosecute this 50-year-old employee who is a fan of Oshi no Ko. Although he was not prosecuted and did not initiate any criminal prosecution, this man was taken to the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of assault, the reason he was referred is because he grabbed a subordinate by the shirt after he shared spoilers of the popular anime “Oshi no Ko“.
The prosecution continued to investigate the facts and background that led to the 50-year-old Oshi no Ko fan. Although the incident occurred in early February 2024, it was not until April that he was sent to the Uji police station of Kyoto Prefectural Police to be prosecuted for allegedly grabbing his subordinate in such a violent manner and kicking him in the waist.
No doubt fanaticism these days can push us over the edge, no matter how old we are. The devotion we feel for our anime and manga titles has put us nowadays at a point where we can even commit actions of physical aggression, but this is not a justification for such actions. For an anime or manga is no reason to hurt anyone, not because they are a subordinate.
Definitely, Ai Hoshino of Oshi no Ko would not approve the use of violence, because let’s remember that it was just for such acts of excessive violence that a fan committed with her, for which she lost her life in her story. If this man is such a fan of this work, he will understand that what he committed deserves to be prosecuted according to the law, to make him see that every action has its consequence.
