As some may recall, in March of this year it was announced that the romantic comedy light novel Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy (Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose) would conclude with the release of its 13th volume. Although no specific details about the publication date of this volume were released at the time, the respective official media of the franchise limited themselves to confirming the announcement, promising to share new updates in the future.
Several months have passed since then, and fans, who have been waiting for news about the long-awaited denouement of the work, finally have news that were shared on the official X account of Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy.
The light novel Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy will come to an end in February 2025.
According to the information presented in the respective official media of the Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy franchise, the latest volume of the light novel by Shuuichi Nimaru and Ui Shigure is scheduled to be released for sale in bookstores and stores in Japan on February 7, 2025.
Something to note is that this volume will feature a limited edition, which will include a special box that will have an illustration of the characters Kuroha Shida, Shirokusa Kachi and Maria Momosaka on it. As expected, the illustration was created by Ui Shigure, the illustrator of the original light novel.
Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy, also known as Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose in the West, is a romantic comedy light novel written by Shuuichi Nimaru and illustrated by Ui Shigure. The light novel began to be published through the Dengeki Bunko imprint, owned by ASCII Media Works, as of June 8, 2019.
The work has also been adapted into manga, with illustrations by Ryou Itou. This adaptation began its serialization in the Monthly Comic Alive magazine of the publisher Media Factory in November 2019. Some time ago, it was confirmed that the literary franchise has surpassed one million copies in circulation.
On April 14, 2014, the light novel Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy premiered its respective anime adaptation. The series consisted of a total of 12 episodes and the animation studio Doga Kobo, known for its work in Oshi no Ko, Gabriel DropOut, Plastic Memories, among other anime, was in charge of its production. The anime was legally simulcast through the Crunchyroll platform under the title Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose.
The anime Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy has the following description: Suehara Maru is the childhood best friend of one of Hozumino High School’s most popular girls, Kuroha Shida. Cute, outgoing and affectionate, Kuroha is the perfect older sister, so it’s no wonder that boys lose their minds over her and constantly beg to be with her.
However, when she confesses her love to Suehara one day, he immediately rejects her; he just can’t see her that way. Besides, he already has his eyes on his first love: school idol and renowned author Shirokusa Kachi.
Suehara thinks she has a chance with Kachi after a decisive meeting, but soon discovers that Kachi has a boyfriend. With her dreams shattered, Suehara mourns for what could have been. That is, until Kuroha approaches her with a proposition: “let’s get revenge.”
