After more than 8 months since the publication of its eleventh volume, Shuichi Nimaru and Ui Shigure’s romantic comedy light novel “Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy” (Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose) has released to the public new updates about the publication of its new volume.
In the official media of the renowned Japanese imprint “Dengeki Bunko“, the official cover of volume #12 of the light novel Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy has been unveiled. According to the information provided by “Dengeki Bunko” on its official website, this volume is scheduled to be released in Japanese bookstores on March 8th of this year and will have a total of 296 pages.

Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy, also known as “Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose” in the West, is a light novel written by Shuuichi Nimaru and illustrated by Ui Shigure. The light novel began to be published through the Dengeki Bunko imprint, owned by ASCII Media Works, as of June 8, 2019.
The work has also been adapted into manga, with illustrations by Ryou Itou. This adaptation began its serialization in the Monthly Comic Alive magazine of the publisher Media Factory in November 2019.
On April 14, 2014, the light novel Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy released its respective anime adaptation. The series consisted of a total of 12 episodes and the animation studio Doga Kobo, known for its work in Oshi no Ko, Gabriel DropOut, Plastic Memories, among other anime, was in charge of its production. The anime was legally simulcast through the Crunchyroll platform under the title Osamake: Romcom Where the Childhood Friend Won’t Lose.
“Osanananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy” is a light novel and anime series revolving around the story of Suehara Maru, who is the childhood best friend of Kuroha Shida, one of the most popular girls at Hozumino High School. Kuroha is charming, outgoing and has many admirers, but Suehara has never seen her romantically. He is more interested in Shirokusa Kachi, a school idol and well-known writer.
The plot takes a turn when Suehara, after a failed attempt to confess his feelings to Kachi, discovers that she already has a boyfriend. Disillusioned, he feels lost and confused about his amorous future. It is then that Kuroha, his childhood friend, proposes a revenge: to work together to overcome their love disappointments.
The story explores the complexities of teenage relationships, friendship and unrequited love. As Suehara and Kuroha collaborate on their plan for revenge, they also face their own emotional dilemmas and discover new perspectives on their feelings for each other.
