Jujutsu Kaisen

One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen and more popular anime plagiarized in new game

Recently, a new video game called Enigma of Sépia has come to light, which did not surprise at a playable level or for its RPG genre, but what left many shocked is the level of plagiarism present in this one. Works such as One Piece, Jujutusu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man or JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure among others have been the victims of this title, being that, although it does not present the characters exactly the same, what it does do is to take too much inspiration to create “waifus” reminiscent of their most famous faces. With this, the internet did not take long to mention the fact and start a variety of debates about the limit between inspiration and plagiarism.

In recent hours, the news of the arrival of a Chinese RPG video game called Enigma of Sepia has been going viral in the networks, which in this case left many shocked, since the design of its characters not only reminds some very popular anime like One Piece or Chainsaw Man, but there are more. And is that these seem directly a plagiarism, where in this case we see characters like Luffy, Satoru Gojo, Denji and several others represented as “waifus”, something that quickly went viral and started a variety of debates of all kinds.

As can be seen in the representative images of some of these characters, they are too similar, for example, in the case of Denji in his “waifu” version of Enigma of Sepia has not only the same characteristic pose of the protagonist of Chainsaw Man, but also the chainsaws are in the same position. Another one of the most commented is plagiarism of Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, being in this case that we see a “waifu” sitting on a seat with clothes very similar to the protagonist of Stardust Crusaders, but the most striking thing is that it has a stand just like Star Platinum.

Below we share the images of these in-game characters, with plagiarism to Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure respectively:

With the images of the game becoming so viral, fans of the works began to make all kinds of debates, the most repeated being how little hidden plagiarism is in this case, including many commenting how even the names of several of the “waifus” are variations of the original names. This is seen in Denise (Denji from Chainsaw Man), Satoria (Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen) or Nora Zorana (Roronoa Zoro from One Piece) among many others. In addition, Enigma of Sepia seeks to compete with other greats of the “whimsy” genre such as Azur Lane, so its “waifus”, in many cases, show a little too much.

Now we will only have to wait to find out if the companies behind the original works will echo the launch of this Enigma of Sepia and what kind of problems it may bring, just a few days before its release, scheduled for next February 14. In addition, they mention in their official pages that they already have almost one and a half million pre-registrations and where they raffle prizes such as Apple products of all kinds, such as the latest model iPhone cell phones or accessories.
