Last March was the tenth anniversary of the broadcasting of the first season of Noragami and thanks to its success it got a second season, as well as OVAS; however, for fans this was not enough, as it is not only about quantity but quality and apparently this is still a subject of debate because many consider that it could have obtained a more faithful adaptation to the manga and this idea is still standing even asking for a remake for some reasons.
Noragami deserves a reboot according to fans
The shonen of the Adachitoka duo began its publication more than 13 years ago and despite having had some pauses, it reached its conclusion at the beginning of this year with a total of 27 collected volumes and saying goodbye with a special edition in the famous Monthly Shonen magazine, belonging to the Kodansha publishing house.
And although its ending, as in other stories, was not to the liking of all its followers, at least what many feared to see as the oblivion between both protagonists did not come true. All this did nothing but revive the mood of the fans, because the comments were not long in coming, as they celebrated its ending, as well as the style and quality that the manga always maintained.
Of course, this meant nothing more than talking about a continuation with a third season or even thinking about a remake of Noragami and although there is no news of this, hopes are still alive in the fans who do not rule out that someday a new project will be announced and preferably a reboot that finally manages to faithfully adapt the manga.
There is no doubt that Studio Bones did a great job with the animation of Noragami, in itself that is not really what fans are demanding, but rather that this great supernatural fantasy action story deserves more than a sequel that changes or adds original material that is not necessary, otherwise it would only unnecessarily lengthen the plot and with a complicated order with so much to adapt.
Noragami is still popular, with over 8 million copies in circulation, fans believe there is little to lose and much to gain from a remake. Even Yato’s seiyuu, Yuuki Kaji, has shown his support and is still waiting to be part of this great story and studio Bones could return with a reboot, also it can be said that being a little more recent than other remakes such as Urusei Yatsura the audience would be bigger counting those who already know the story as those who do not.
Between the continuation and getting a “Brotherhood”, the fans support the remake, because they want to see a faithful adaptation to the manga now that it has finished. Noragami tells the odyssey of the god Yato who, in order to build his own shrine, must fulfill people’s wishes in exchange for money, even if they are domestic and sometimes complicated tasks.
Although Yato is a god, he is not popular among people, since another of his objectives is to obtain a significant number of followers, and while this is happening, he meets the young Hiyori, who is involved in the spiritual and earthly world. Another young man named Yukine joins the god’s adventures, becoming his shinki; Yato’s guide and sword. Many adventures await them as Yato tries to achieve his goal. “Noragami” is an exciting series that fuses the supernatural with comedy and action.
