As some of you may recall, a few weeks ago a rumor started circulating about the confirmation of a second season for the anime adaptation of the No Game no Life light novel that would be announced by KADOKAWA and Aniplex this August 2. This all started with an announcement shared by Aniplex and KADOKAWA, where it was mentioned that an anime adaptation “highly anticipated” by the public would have a special announcement, although without going into much detail about which franchise it was about.
Although expectations about the announcement of a second season of the anime No Game No Life were very high, encouraged by the supposed confirmation of a rumor, we have sad news: the expected announcement by Aniplex and KADOKAWA does not include No Game No Life. But what was this announcement all about? We’ll tell you about it below.
No Game no Life, the light novel Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto will get an Anime
According to information presented by KADOKAWA and Aniplex at the Aniplex x Kadokawa Anime Matsuri event, it was announced that Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi’s light novel, Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto (Secrets of the Silent Witch), will have an anime adaptation.
Along with this report, the first visual image for the anime Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto was also presented to the public and it was confirmed that voice actress Saya Aizawa, known for voicing characters such as Norn Greyrat in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, Karen Inukai in Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta and Kisara in Engage Kiss, will be in charge of playing Monica Everett.
Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto began as an original novel written by Matsuri Isora, which was published on the website Shousetsuka ni Narou in February 2020. However, the publisher KADOKAWA began serializing a light novel illustrated by Fujimi Nanna from June 2021. The work currently has nine volumes published in total.
In addition, the light novel Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto has a manga adaptation by Tobi Tana. This version began publication in KADOKAWA’s B’s-LOG COMIC in July 2021. The manga is still in publication, and KADOKAWA released the fourth compilation volume on May 31 this year.
