Fans of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE couldn’t be happier after the confirmation of “A Flare That Cleaves The Red Sea” the second collaboration with the legendary anime Evangelion. And since the game has spoiled every fan with stunning visuals, shorts and details of this new collaboration that has calmed the critics and has fans of both franchises anxious for the release date of NIKKE X EVANGELION.

This second collaboration between one of the most famous video games in the mobile ecosystem and one of the best anime ever, released in the mid-90s, comes after the first collaboration which was “The Ark Defense Battle Initiate”. Released at the end of August 2024, we were able to the Nikke fandom could play with Rei, Mari, Misato and of course the legendary waifu Asuka in action in conjunction with Anis or Rapi saving the world for the first time.
“A Flare That Cleaves The Red Sea” will be the title of this all-new second collaboration that does not turn out to be a sequel and corrects many mistakes of the first one attracting more audience, especially Evangelion fans. The publicity that has been given to the event has been huge, placing beautiful visuals of the waifus that will be present in the collaboration, such as Mari, Rei, Asuka and Sakura Suzuhara as a special character, who appeared in the 4 Khara movies.
In these visuals we can see the original designs of the 4 khara studios movies, which were a tribute to the original work of Hideaki Anno and where they told an adapted story that did not disappoint the fans of the franchise. In these installments of more than 2 hours per feature film, Rei’s plugsuit changes to black, the character of the beautiful and cheerful Mari Makinami Illustrous is introduced and Asuka takes the surname of “Shikinami Langley” in addition to losing her left eye wearing an eye patch, which we will see in “A Flare That Cleaves The Red Sea”.
Also shown were the weapons that our favorite waifus from this feature film saga will have available. In addition to their futuristic and innovative pistols, machine guns and long-range rifles, the girls will have as a “Plus”:

Although Nikke and all of his collaborations are characterized by “the plot” and that has been at least a huge part of their success, not to mention their lore, gameplay, mechanics, stunning graphics and characters. “A Flare That Cleaves The Red Sea” changes the tone of the game and is the true crown jewel of the sensationalist collaboration that will be available in just a few hours for those Goddess of Victory: Nikke users and Evangelion fans who wish to be part of the gacha.
Not only will we see Rei, Sakura, Mari and the favorite of many: Asuka in tighter than usual plugsuits, but we will also have them available in stylish costumes that will be available for a limited time and will be released after the official start of the collaboration. And just as the Nikkei fandom and Evangelion fandom have historically loved to see “plots” they will also be fascinated to see the designs of these stylish dresses, which are not only harmonious with the character designs, but also include elegant instruments:

This trio of limited-time exclusive designs, to the surprise of many, were the most acclaimed by fans, as they not only over-detail the beauty of Rei, Mari and Asuka. “Mystery Muse”, ‘Soul Connect’ and ‘Ocean’s Lament’ make our waifus look more mature, striking, with a harmonious color scheme, but leave a valuable lesson for everyone: ‘whimsy’ not only in Nikke, but in any title from any developer is not everything.
The game is already in the update stage, as it will be released tomorrow, on Thursday, February 20.
