A few days ago we presented the news that the beautiful “waifu” of the gacha-style game The Goddess of Victory: Nikke Dorothy had been the source of inspiration for a fan in Mexico to open his own corn corn store, being that using the image of the same girl as a meme served to attract the attention of fans. But apparently this fame transcended not only borders, but also languages, and some accounts of the Japanese Nikkei community echoed the fact, leaving their feelings about the “Doro Corn” store.
The Mexican store “Doro Corn” arrived to the Nikke community in Japan.
A fan in Mexico surprised a few days ago with the opening of his new business, in this case an elote store that has as its main character one of the many “waifus” present in the gacha-style video game The Goddess of Victory: Nikke: the cute Dorothy. But this time, her meme-like version, “Doro”, was chosen to be the main face of the company, and the game community was surprised by the venture, but it seems that the surprise spread to unexpected places, as the same community, in this case in Japan, shared the fact.
From Twitter/X, the account @nikkepedia_jp, which is dedicated to sharing all kinds of information about the game, published the different images where we see not only the same store that was shared a few days ago, but also what happened at the opening, where we learned a little more about “Doro Corn”. Among the most striking aspects of all is how the same venture sells bags of the well-known Doritos nachos, but in this case the “Dorotos”, following the desired line focused on the girl.
Upon seeing these images, Nikke fans in Japan were astonished, since most of them were surprised by the great popularity of the game outside of Asia and especially how the “Doro” meme was taken to be part of the business world with this corn store. Many fans from Japan also showed their desire to visit this establishment, and the fact is that trying Mexican food, set with one of Nikkei’s most beloved girls like Dorothy, can be a perfect experience.
Likewise, Latin fans were present in this post from Nikke’s Japanese community account, commenting on how, although they are separated by language, they are united thanks to their love for “Doro”, and many used translators to communicate with fans from Japan. This was a nice union between two different cultures, but demonstrating that the love for the “waifus” can unite people all over the world in the best way, now we will have to wait for new news about the “Doro Corn” to know if any fan from Japan came to visit it.
