Niantic

Niantic: The Pokémon GO developer is reportedly negotiating the sale of its gaming sector.

From the first day of its launch as a mobile exclusive, Pokémon GO proved to be a hit with both old and new fans of the franchise. The title developed by Niantic eliminated the formula of Game Freak’s endearing RPG’s and presented us with a “hunting” title where the objective is to catch pokémon and raise their level. The genius did not lie in this, but in the location unfolding within our city. It has been almost 10 years since its launch and now Niantic plans to make a move that consists of selling its games section, which would include Pokémon GO.

After 13 years of its foundation and almost 10 years since the creation of its most successful video game, John Hanke’s company and former Google partner has decided to make a strategic move for its pockets, which consists of selling its video game section to Scopely Inc. an interactive entertainment company. This company, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, was created in 2011 and is valued at 5.4 billion dollars, mainly characterized by games as a service such as Monopoly GO and The Walking Dead: Road to Survival, however, the video game it has in partnership with Hasbro has been more profitable and lucrative since day 1 of launch.

According to a recent report by Bloomberg, the companies located in California are very close to a negotiation and Scopely would acquire for a figure of 3.5 billion the video game sector of Niantic, which in addition to Pokémon GO includes in package Monster Hunter Now, another augmented reality title of the Capcom franchise.

Pokemon Go Niantic

Born in 2012 in San Francisco, California, as a software developer and not as a video game developer, Niantic is best known for the world famous, award-winning and acclaimed to date: Pokémon GO, a revolutionary title launched in the middle of the last decade that was not only for fans of the franchise, it was and continues to be for the entire public because of the simplicity of its gameplay and how fun it is. With only one pokeball on screen and waiting or searching for the “pocket monsters”, the title consists of catching and completing the entire pokedex.

The most innovative and peculiar thing about the game is that the locations are inside our city, that is to say, the creatures can even appear in our room or around the corner, besides having the “camera” mode to observe each Pokémon in 3D wherever it appears. This new game mode, like Detective Pikachu, changed the classic tone of Game Freak’s classic RPG’s, where the objective in synthesis is breeding, development, evolution, battles, beating the Pokémon league and catching the legendary Pokémon or Pokémon.
