Since its launch in April 2023, Honkai Star Rail has become one of the most popular free-to-play RPGs on the market, even managing to give good competition to HoYoverse’s other flagship title, Genshin Impact. And since Summer Game Fest 2024 is one of the most important video game events of the year, the company was not going to waste the opportunity to present a new trailer, which gave us a first glimpse of what we can expect in this great space adventure in the near future.
New Characters and New Outfits: Everything Coming Soon to Honkai Star Rail
HoYoverse decided to release an interesting new Honkai Star Rail trailer in the middle of the Summer Game Fest 2024 broadcast that took place yesterday. It is titled “The Art of Dreaming” and gave us an exclusive look at the cinematics, events and characters that we will be able to experience in the game’s story in Update 2.3 coming soon. Needless to say, the video contains animation, music and voice acting of the highest quality, which comes as no surprise coming from HoYoverse, who always make sure their announcements are made with a lot of care and love.
As for Honkai Star Rail’s important announcements, the most striking one is the arrival of a new playable character named Firefly. Like many other characters in the game, she is a beautiful girl with an adorable design, but she possesses a distinctive element: when she enters the battlefield, she can cover her body with an epic mechanical combat armor called SAM. Based on the footage in the trailer, this looks like a lot of fun and gives Firefly a chance to become one of the most popular characters in the entire experience. Jade, Argenti and Ruan Mei will also be added to the banner, which is ideal for those players who have not been able to obtain them previously.
While the arrival of a new character is always interesting, the announcement of a variant for an existing one is something that can excite fans even more. At the end of this trailer, a new variant for March 7th, one of Honkai Star Rail’s most popular girls, was revealed. This time, March 7th wears a beautiful outfit based on Xianzhou, not to mention that she can now wield two swords to fight, as she learned combat techniques from Yunli and Yanqing. Very soon, players will be able to participate in a special event to unlock this fun March 7th variant, although HoYoverse did not yet give specific details about it.
Naturally, that’s not all we can expect soon in Honkai Star Rail. A Simulated Universe mode will also be added, which will have “Roguelike” style gameplay and we already know that some Xianzhou characters will be added very soon. In fact, the new March 7th variant seems to be the first hint towards their inclusion. Remember that Honkai Star Rail Update 2.3 will be released next June 19 and that the game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android.
