The long awaited new series by renowned author Ken Wakui, Negai no Astro (Astro Royale), has been released with its first chapter, where many compare it to the magnificent work of the author Tokyo Revengers. Some do it in a positive way saying that, they hope it will be better than its predecessor, others just wish it had never existed. Negai no Astro arrives breaking in its first chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump
From the moment the Tokyo Revengers mangaka Ken Wakui announced his new project in the Weekly Shonen Jump with a visual of it, users have begun to feel very excited and at the same time anxious about how this new series will take direction. Now, what does the first chapter of this work show us, is it another Tokyo Revengers with fiction-like designs, or is it just another work in the pile? In the first instance we see some very well stylized designs, highlighting features and clothing used, something that highlights the mangaka since its inception. Hibaru Yotsurugi, a boy full of energy who is not afraid of anything, belongs to the prestigious family of Yakuza Yotsurugi, a clan respected for its cornerstone, Kongo Yotsurugi. In this family, Hibaru is the only biological son of the clan leader, who has a vision of helping the weak to make a better world. In addition, this lord has adopted over the years children who have been discarded as garbage, making them part of his clan, as heirs of the clan.
Hibaru has many foster brothers, the closest to him and his life partner is Terasu Yotsurugi, a strong-willed boy with a calmer and more formal personality. In the present, our protagonist, Hibaru, introduces us to his day to day life as a Yakuza, protecting families, collecting money from offerings for his clan, although he doesn’t accept it all, he remains a good boy. Contrary to this, the day marked, today, is the funeral of his father, Kongo, who has passed away of natural causes. Now, inside the funeral, Hibaru must announce the new heir of the Yotsurugi family….
It’s Terasu, although this is a lie, but still the true heir, Hibaru says that he would never be the heir, since his mission is another, to help people. Meanwhile, when leaving this funeral ceremony and presentation of the new heir, in the middle of the hot springs next to Terasu, Hibaru notices that there is a meteor shower. It is said that by holding something precious and making a wish, it will be fulfilled. So Hibaru holds his father’s amulet that he gave to him and Terasu: The spear and shield. Meteorites are, falling to earth, this creates a total chaos where the world is covered in gray.
Now, the desire to be the strongest, of all the Yakuzas to help people has granted him powers… although he is not the only one, in Negai no Astro this catastrophe has caused humans to obtain mutations translated into special abilities. To make matters worse, the Yotsurugi clan is not satisfied with the appointment of their new leader, what will be in store for this kind boy and his brother as they struggle in a new world in ruins?
