In February of this year, Naruto’s live action was announced, which caused excitement among the franchise’s fans. And as it happens many times with this type of projects, fans found the actress that according to their opinion meets the criteria to play Tsunade. We are referring to Sydney Sweeney, one of the young actresses of the moment, who has managed to captivate the whole world and apparently the Naruto fans, being the perfect actress to embody the recognized character, according to many of them.
Sydney Sweeney, the actress chosen by Naruto fans to be Tsunade
Through Facebook, a fan page shared this news where they said that Naruto fans were asking for actress Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in series such as Euphoria and who has recently gained more popularity among the public, to be the one to give life to Tsunade. Users said that there are “two big reasons” why they considered Sydney Sweeney to be the ideal candidate to portray Naruto’s waifu in the upcoming live action. Clearly, these “reasons” referred to the size of the actress’ bust, since, as we will remember, one of Tsunade’s most representative physical features is the size of her bust.
The publication generated diverse opinions in the community and there were those who mentioned that her bust was not the right size, that she needed to be bigger, other people said that she would look better in a role as Ino. It was also commented that Sydney Sweeney was too young to be the Hokage of Naruto, that there were other better options, and finally another part of the fans agreed that she was the one chosen to be Tsunade. And it is true that the two women share similar characteristics, so it is understandable why there are those who are in favor of this proposal.
Among these comments, one that particularly caught the attention was related to the age of the actress, because although Tsunade is already a 54-year-old woman, remember that she likes to maintain her image as a young woman in her 20s, so on that side it would not really pose much of a problem. And something to consider is that since this is an adaptation of characters taken from a 2D version, it’s not always possible to make the real version look identical. Although it is true that many times it is possible to support retouching with makeup or technology, but not in all cases it is possible to comply one hundred percent with the image of the animated character.
None of the actors who will be part of the cast of the upcoming live action or even the release date have been announced yet, we only know who will be behind the camera. Destin Daniel Cretton will be in charge of directing the Naruto movie, while Avi Arad, Ari Arad and Emmy Yu are the producers chosen for this project. Fans of the anime are looking forward to this film, since it is a great opportunity to relive great moments of this story and even give it a twist with additional details that may surprise them.
Nowadays, live action films are quite common projects, even though in too many occasions they cause controversy because of the actors and actresses chosen to bring the characters to life. In these cases, the debate usually centers on the poor “choice” of actors, since they do not meet the same physical description as the animated series. And while it is true that this is something important, so is the interpretation of the actors, because in the end the main thing is to give life to them. What do you think about this initiative of Naruto fans?
