Nanatsu no Taizai sequel impresses with its opening

The sequel “Nanatsu no Taizai: Mokushiroku no Yonkishi” (The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse) had its long-awaited release at the end of last year, but to the surprise of many fans its popularity has not faded despite the time thanks to its second opening theme. And it has managed to cultivate a great number of successes, among them the number one position in sales, a very important result for the anime.

Many fans of the anime Nanatsu no Taizai, better known in English as The Seven Deadly Sins, were eagerly waiting to see the continuation of this fantasy story with Meliodas and company, but to their surprise it was announced that the sequel, Nanatsu no Taizai: Mokushiroku no Yonkishi, would be animated and quickly after its first season they would announce a second one that will arrive this year, with many new adventures.

We have seen recently that there are anime adaptations that are very popular among fans and although their popularity sometimes does not have the same impact on sales of products such as DVD or Blu-ray, there are others like The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse that even surprise us in numbers as on this occasion it has done for its opening in Japan.

Much has already been said about the most famous anime so far in the last two seasons, as Sousou no Frieren and Mahou shoujo ni akogarete, the elf mage and the magical girls have taken the top spots in Blu-ray sales. But recently Oricon News has shared its sales statistics for the last week of last March, which runs from March 25 to March 31.

To the surprise of many, the second opening theme song of Nanatsu no Taizai: Mokushiroku no Yonkishi, managed to position itself in the first place in that week, released since last March 27th of this year, the single Your Key by the famous J-Pop boy band JO1 obtained the magnificent amount of 88,441 copies sold.

Following this wonderful achievement and taking first place, it was followed in second place by Bandai Namco’s Girls & Panzer Final Chapter Episode 4 (Special Limited Edition) Blu-ray with 30,333 copies sold, and in third place by L’Arc~en~Ciel’s 30th L’Aniversario En Vivo album with 16,634 copies sold.

Undoubtedly, this is a great achievement to be able to lead this kind of rankings that are very popular in the nation of the rising sun, both for the musical group JO1 and for Nanatsu no Taizai: Mokushiroku no Yonkishi that has been liked by thousands of fans. Nanatsu no Taizai: Mokushiroku no Yonkishi (The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse) is about Percival, who has spent his entire life with his grandfather in God’s Finger, a secluded retreat high in the clouds. Despite enjoying a quiet existence, deep down Percival has always longed for adventure. However, his world is shaken when a stranger, who has a surprising bond with him, destroys everything he knows.

Determined to seek revenge, Percival sets out on a solo journey. Throughout his odyssey, this young man, who had been sheltered from many realities, realizes how much he is ignorant about the outside world. Fortunately, he finds new friends who offer him support. However, uncertainty lingers as to how they will react when they discover Percival’s true role in a prophecy foreshadowing the apocalypse.
