My Hero Academia: Fans theorize about a family relationship between Deku and All for One

A few years ago, Horikoshi-sensei confirmed that the identity of Deku’s father would be revealed in the future; however, to date this information has not yet been revealed in the “My Hero Academia” (Boku no Hero Academia) manga. But due to recent events in the story, a fan of this franchise joined some dots and wondered if it would be possible that the great villain All for One would turn out to be the father of our protagonist, which unleashed a lot of comments in the My Hero Academia community. We invite you to continue reading to find out all the details.

My Hero Academia fans speculate that All for One could be Deku’s daddy

My Hero Academia Deku Vs All For One

The user @krim1934 through Twitter/X made a publication with a very interesting questioning: “Haven’t you wondered why All for One never attacked Inko (Deku’s mother) to affect Izuku?”, and it is enough to observe all the people that this villain has hurt who are an important part of Deku’s life, it is somewhat logical to wonder why he has not gone after his mother, being that she is the most relevant person in his life. And this would definitely be a pretty hard blow for the protagonist of My Hero Academia, to lose his mother or to have something seriously hurt her.

Well this question, sparked a discussion among My Hero Academia fans, being that many people were skeptical of this scenario, as many things that have happened before did not give them a strong reason to believe that it was true that All for One turned out to be Deku’s father. Someone even commented that if this were real, it would be more of a “script”, another user said that in this battle he hadn’t even seen the villain take our protagonist as a real threat. And for both arguments, other people gave their own as to why this theory is not so far from being true.

For the first argument, the answer is that it could not be script help, since, due to the plot development, the villain would not have been able to attack Inko because All for One was in prison at the time. Also, the AU had protected civilians inside their facility when he escaped and thirdly, All for One did not know about Deku until another villain, Shigaraki confronted him, so he was not certain that he was the successor of the One for All. And for the second argument, the answer was simply that it wasn’t true, since, in this fight, he was tearing Deku apart.

Mostly people disagreed with this theory, which, it seems, had already been quite vocal within the My Hero Academia community and did not end up convincing fans, who commented that it is something that has many holes and does not make much sense in the plot. Also something that resonated quite a lot in this conversation, was what some fans think about the lack of courage of Horikoshi-sensei to carry out some ruthless actions in his story, like other mangakas who destroy even their protagonists without touching their hearts, but in this case, he always seeks to give them a helping hand from the script.

At this moment My Hero Academia is broadcasting the seventh season of the anime that began on May 5, 2024 as part of the summer season and will last 21 episodes. It is precisely in this arc where we begin to see the battle against the league of villains that we will be able to visualize during this seventh season. For its part, the manga is currently in its 422nd chapter, which was published on May 12 and has fans increasingly on the edge of their seats to know what else is in store for these characters.
