Fans of the popular franchise “My Dress-Up Darling” (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) were thrilled by the confirmation that the manga’s fifth anniversary will be celebrated with a special event. A special illustration drawn by Shinichi Fukuda was published to commemorate the announcement, showing how Wakana Gojou is doing makeup for the beautiful Marin Kitagawa.

The special event is an exhibition titled “5th Anniversary My Dress-Up Darling” that will start on August 15 and will be held in Tokyo at Matsuya Ginza.
The event gives fans the chance to appreciate iconic scenes, color illustrations, and cosplay costumes of the characters, extracted from the eleven volumes that make up the manga. But that’s not all, as original merchandise will be sold that can only be obtained for a limited time.
Tickets for the exhibition in Tokyo are for a specific time slot during the event period. General sales start from 18:00 Japan Time on June 23 through Lawson Ticket. From May 18 to 26, prior to the start of general sales, a special lottery will be held that includes a total of 8 illustrations.

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru, also known in the West as My Dress-Up Darling, is a romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. The series began publication in January 2018 in Square Enix publisher’s Young Gangan magazine. Currently, there are 10 compilation volumes published and a while ago it was reported that the series has surpassed 7.5 million copies in circulation.
On January 8 this year, the 12-episode anime adaptation of the My Dress-Up Darling manga premiered. The series was produced by CloverWorks animation studio and directed by Keisuke Shinohara. It is currently available legally on the Crunchyroll platform and has a Latin Spanish dub.
Synopsis of My Dress-Up Darling:
The story focuses on Wakana Gojou, a high school student who spends his days perfecting the art of making hina dolls with the hope of reaching his grandfather’s level of expertise. While his teenage classmates are busy with pop culture, Gojou finds happiness in sewing clothes for his dolls. However, he does his best to keep his unique hobby a secret, as he fears being ridiculed if it became known.
One day, he meets Marin Kitagawa, an extraordinarily pretty girl whose confidence and personality contrast with Gojou’s way of being. It seems unimaginable that Gojou, who has no friends, would mingle with people like Kitagawa, who is always surrounded by her classmates. However, the unexpected happens when Kitagawa discovers Gojou’s skill with a sewing machine and cheerfully confesses to him about her own hobby: cosplay. Because her sewing skills are pitiful, she decides to ask for his help.
