“Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation” (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu) is an anime that has become very popular in recent times due to its interesting story that keeps its fans captive as the plot progresses. However, it has also been involved in countless controversies for its characters, especially for its protagonist Rudeus, who can have some questionable attitudes that displease the followers of this series, causing many discussions about it. However, this time the character that caused the uproar was not the protagonist, but Paul Greyrat, Rudeus’ father.
Mushoku Tensei fans react to scene between Paul and Lilia in the anime
At this moment, the second part of the second season of Mushoku Tensei is being broadcasted and this week in its chapter 8 we had an interaction between Paul Greyrat, Lilia Greyrat and Rudeus, protagonist of the story. In this part that has become popular in social networks, we see Paul saying that, although Lilia says otherwise, it really drives her crazy to “do it” with him, before these words of Paul, Lilia reacts by reprimanding him with an embarrassed face and the scene ends with another dialogue of Paul saying “By the way, that time she assaulted me”.
Before this interaction, we see Rudeus‘ face with an expression that does not denote much of his thoughts about the dialogue that the two aforementioned characters were having. This small scene was enough for the Mushoku Tensei community to start talking about what was going on and to post their thoughts on social networks, generating a wide discussion about it. Some people did not like this situation, while others found it quite funny, and here are some of the most frequent comments that were found on the internet.
For example, one user said “Taking advantage of Zenith’s absence”, referring to the fact that since his first wife and Rudeus‘ mother is still missing at this point in the story, Paul was taking the opportunity to be with Lilia, who is his second wife. Another person added “I’m surprised he didn’t get her pregnant again, that would have been a curious event. But Paul, being Paul it’s partly understandable, I would also like to presume that I was eating such a delicacy as Lilia was”.
Another user who apparently was not very up to date with the story asked if Paul and Lilia continued to meet and how was the relationship between Paul, Zenith and Lilia while Rudeus was away, he questioned if they had forgiven each other and had a relationship again. One person very kindly told him about all the events that surely for Mushoku Tensei fans who are up to date, are no longer news, he replied that: yes, they became a family again by accepting Lilia as a second wife, however, since the teleportation event Paul did not get back together with another woman until he found Zenith.
However, on the way to Bergaritt, Paul did have to be with Lilia due to the “succubus” attack, but this could not be taken as legitimate. This “encounter” was provoked because these creatures, “succubus”, alter men with their fragrance to provoke this reaction and, in fact, in the novel we can see him repentant for this event, since he had proposed not to be with anyone until he rescued his wife.
