Mushoku Tensei

Mushoku Tensei causes controversy again with its most recent episode

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has undoubtedly become one of the most controversial and controversial anime of recent years. Although it has some interesting and fun concepts that have managed to delight fans of the “Isekai” genre, it is impossible to deny that it contains many problematic elements. And this has been more evident than ever with the recent episode, which got all the viewers talking on social media.

A bizarre scene from Mushoku Tensei caught the attention of viewers

Episode 18 of Mushoku Tensei Season 2 was released this past weekend. It includes a touching scene in which the main character, Rudeus Greyrat, announces that his wife, Sylphiette (also known as Sylphy) is pregnant. And while this caused several emotional reactions from fans and characters of the series, the mood is immediately interrupted by Aisha Greyrat, Rudeus’ half-sister who also serves the role of maid within the story.

Aisha becomes very jealous and tells the protagonist, “Rudeus, when you have time, see if you give me some of that love,” implying that she wants to have ca*nal relations with her half-brother, which is really disturbing when we remember that, not only are they related, but Aisha is underage and she is literally a child. The response from Rudeus is even stranger, who says, “No way. Dad would beat me up” implying that the only reason he doesn’t want to impregnate his underage half-sister is only because his dad would forbid it. Naturally, this brief, but troubling interaction soon caused controversy all over the internet.

Some passionate Mushoku Tensei fans came out to defend the series, claiming that it is just an innocent interaction for comedic purposes, and that it does not mean that the brotherly relationship between Rudeus and Aisha goes any further than that. However, many other people fervently criticized this moment, not only because it implies an incetuous relationship between the two characters, but also because of Aisha’s age. This wouldn’t be the first time that the protagonist of Mushoku Tensei was criticized for his personality and behaviors, so it most likely won’t be the last either.

It’s a real shame because Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is considered a solid “Isekai” with charismatic characters and funny moments, but it’s these types of scenes that scare off a large portion of the audience. Although, only time will tell if this anime will go in that problematic direction or if it will just continue to make jokes of this nature that will leave some viewers with a bad taste in their mouths.

What do you think about it, did this scene of Mushoku Tensei shock you, or do you think they are exaggerating?
