Since its release, the story of Rudeus Greyrat has generated both admiration and rejection, especially for the way the protagonist retains the memory of his past life and his actions in his new life. Now its author, Rifujin na Magonote, has come out to respond to the criticism that continues to dog his work.
Mushoku Tensei is once again the target of criticism
The author in his official Twitter/X account @Magote_rihujin commented the following: “I am happy when I receive praise, I am sad when I receive criticism and it hurts me when I receive slander or abuse, but no matter what people say, I will write what I want to write, so nothing will change”. Implying that despite the multiple criticisms, he will remain true to his principles and will continue to do his work.
In social networks, the debate about Mushoku Tensei has not ceased. Many consider that the story deals with immoral themes and that the protagonist, Rudeus, is problematic due to his behavior and the way he faces his new opportunity to live. The main criticism is that Rudeus still has the consciousness of a grown man inside the body of a child, which has led to several scenes in the story being criticized for his p3rverted personality.
In the face of the ongoing controversy, one Twitter/X user directly mentioned the author, asking him what he thought about the controversy and accusations that his work promotes questionable content. To this, Rifujin na Magonote responded directly and bluntly, “I write what I want to write.” This statement, though brief, made clear his position, which we had mentioned earlier: he does not intend to soften or change his story to please his critics.
The author’s response has generated mixed reactions. On the one hand, his fans have applauded his firmness and authenticity in defending his work, arguing that Mushoku Tensei is a story of growth and redemption. Many fans argue that Rudeus‘ story shows his evolution and that the controversial aspects are part of his development as a character.
