Mortal Kombat 1: Omni-Man coming soon to the game

Mortal Kombat 1, the new installment in the legendary saga of bloody fighting video games, was released a few months ago and was very well received. As usual in this franchise, fans are more than excited for the release of downloadable fighters, as these are usually guest characters from other intellectual properties, such as Freddy Krueger, the Xenomorph or Terminator in previous titles. Although it was already announced who will be the protagonists of the next Kombat Pack 1, a trailer with gameplay and the official release date of the first one has just been released: Omni-Man, from the animated superhero series, Invincible.

Omni-Man will beat up the fighters of Mortal Kombat 1

Omni-Man En Mortal Kombat 1 - Gameplay 1

Omni-Man, also known as Nolan Grayson, is the antagonist of Invincible: An alien superhero similar to Superman, but corrupt and unafraid to use violence against his enemies and victims. Because of this, he is a perfect guest for Mortal Kombat 1 and in this trailer we can see his fighting style. Omni-Man not only fights with super speed and super strength, but all his special attacks are references to memorable moments from the series. Like when he beats his son Mark to a pulp until he breaks his face or his Fatality, which refers to the infamous scene where he uses Mark to kill innocents on a train. All of this is depicted in MK1.

Although both the comic and the Invincible animated series have a more colorful and cartoonish art style, the truth is that Omni-Man looks excellent in the more hyper-realistic style of Mortal Kombat 1. This is a character with luxurious detail, and you can tell that the developers have a lot of affection for his origin series. The best part of all is that his voice actor, the great J.K. Simmons, reprises his role in this game. And the interactions he has with the original MK1 cast are extremely witty. The Viltrumite warrior will undoubtedly be one of the most used characters by gamers.

Luckily you won’t have to wait long to try Omni-Man. If you already purchased Kombat Pack 1 previously, it will be available from November 9. All other players will be able to download it individually from November 16. The best part is that Omni-Man won’t be alone, as he’s not the only corrupt and violent superhero to be added to Mortal Kombat 1. We’ve already had confirmation that Homelander from The Boys and Peacemaker from the series of the same name will also be part of Kombat Pack 1.
