After “Monogatari Series” surprised the public by announcing its comeback with the production of a new anime project that will encompass the “Off Season” and “Monster Season” books, fans of this popular franchise have been patiently waiting for updates on the new anime.
Luckily, the wait is over and the official media of the “Monogatari Series” franchise has announced that the new anime project titled “Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season” will premiere in Japan on July 6th of this year. Along with this news, the official website of “Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season” presented an exciting promotional video, which presents a preview of what we will be able to see in this anime.

It is worth noting that the promotional video features a preview of the closing theme song of “Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season“, which will be performed by the renowned Japanese J-pop music duo “YOASOBI” and will be titled “UNDEAD“. For the moment, it is unknown who will be in charge of performing the anime’s opening theme song.
Recall that the anime “Monogatari Series” announced the production of “Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season” last January this year. At that time, it was only specified that the series would premiere in the course of this 2024 and the animation studio in charge of its production would be SHAFT.
Previously, it was confirmed that the anime will be under the main direction of Akiyuki Simbo, while the specific direction will be in charge of Midori Yoshizawa. As previously mentioned, the anime will be produced by the renowned animation studio SHAFT. Akio Watanabe will serve as character designer and main animation director. In addition, Simbo and Fuyashi Tou will be in charge of supervising the anime’s scripts.

“Monogatari Series” is a fascinating and unique franchise distinguished by its intricate storytelling, complex characters and stylized visual presentation. Created by prolific writer Nisio Isin and illustrated by renowned character designer VOFAN. The franchise dives into a world where the supernatural and the everyday converge in extraordinary ways.
The plot follows Koyomi Araragi, a high school student who finds himself involved in various encounters with supernatural creatures, curses and extraordinary beings. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjougahara, who never talks to anyone, falls from a tall ladder into Koyomi’s arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs almost nothing, a physical contradiction.
Despite being threatened by her, Araragi offers his help and introduces him to Meme Oshino, an eccentric middle-aged man living in an abandoned building who helped him stop being a vampire. As the story progresses, the characters’ dark mysteries and complicated pasts are revealed, interwoven with witty dialogue and a non-linear narrative that defies convention.
