The manga written and illustrated by Hitsuji Gondaira, “Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen” (Mission: Yozakura Family) is soon to debut its animated adaptation and for fans who already know the action-packed romantic comedy story, as well as for many others who will give it a chance this new spring 2024 season, we have been surprised with new details of its production, including how the series will be divided in its broadcast.
Mission: Yozakura Family surprises fans
A couple of years ago, the organizing committee of AnimeJapan 2021 opened again the voting for the survey “Manga you would like to be animated” and with more than 100 works competing, this unique story of spies and romantic comedy made its appearance supported by its fans. By the end of 2022 and during Jump Festa 2023, the anime production was officially confirmed.
Then we only knew that it would premiere sometime in 2024 and that SILVER LINK studios would be in charge of its production. In the promotional video it was confirmed that the premiere is scheduled for next April 7 in Japan. During the last Anime Japan 2023 new details were shared, revealing a promotional visual where other members of the Yozakura family appear and among them are: Nanao, Futaba, Kyouchirou, Shinzo, Shion and Kengo.
Recently, through the official Twitter/X account of the anime Mission: Yozakura Family and with the hype increasing, they have shared with us more details of its premiere. Every Sunday from next April 7, an episode will be released, and that’s not all, as it has just been announced that the anime will be broadcast with 2 consecutive cours, so we can think that we will have 24 chapters approximately, that’s until they confirm it completely.
In addition, they mention that Mission: Yozakura Family will be transmitted through streaming platforms Prime Video and Netflix, although this may only apply to Japan, as a few days ago Disney + announced the acquisition of the license for global distribution. In the meantime we tell you what this manga is about, which has been published since 2019 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and so far has 16 compilation volumes.
Mission: Yozakura Family introduces us to our protagonist Taiyou Asano, a high school student, who after losing his family has found it difficult to socialize with others, and the only one he can act normal with is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura, leader of the strongest family of spies in the world. Kyouichirou Yozakura, Mutsumi’s brother has Taiyou in his sights and to survive he must marry the young girl and become a spy for the Yozakura family without knowing all the secrets behind it.

The production team promises a great job in Mission: Yozakura Family:
- Mirai Minato (Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii, Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru, Shijou Saikyou no Daimaou, Murabito A ni Tensei suru) will be in charge of directing, as well as writing and supervising the scripts.
- Mizuki Takahashi (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu, Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!, Uramichi Oniisan) in animation direction and character design.
- Kouji Fujimoto (Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii, Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!) y Osamu Sasaki (Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii, Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!), ambos estarán a cargo de la banda sonora.
