In the respective official media of the Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!) franchise, the official cover of the eighth volume of Takibi Amamori and Imigimuru’s light novel has been presented to the public.
In addition, the official website of the Japanese publisher Shogakukan reported that this new volume of the light novel Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! will be released in stores and bookstores in Japan on May 19, 2025. Additionally, it was specified that this volume will be composed of a total of 319 pages.

Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!, known as Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! in the West, is a romantic comedy light novel that is written by Takibi Amamori and illustrated by Imigimuru. The work began publication at the Gagaga Bunko imprint of Shogakukan Publishing House in July 2021. Currently, Takibi Amamori and Imigimuru’s work is still in publication and has a total of 7 volumes published plus 1 extra volume.
The work has a manga adaptation with Itachi’s illustrations. This adaptation began its publication in Ura Sunday magazine and MangaOne service since April 2022 and is still in serialization with 3 compilation volumes published. Thanks to the good reception from the public, the production of an anime adaptation was announced for the light novel Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!
On July 14 of this year, the light novel Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! premiered its respective anime adaptation, which consisted of a total of 12 episodes. The series was produced by the animation studio A-1 Pictures and was legally simulcast in America through the Crunchyroll platform.

Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! has the following description:
Despite not understanding much about fleeting teenage romances, Kazuhiko Nukumizu, a high school freshman, still wonders how he would react if his life turned into a love story. Regardless, as a self-proclaimed “background character,” Nukumizu is content to continue his life as an introvert with a negligible social life.
However, he suddenly finds himself too close to the spotlight when he witnesses his popular classmate Anna Yanami being rejected by her childhood friend in the middle of a family restaurant. Although Nukumizu wishes he could forget what he has seen and move on, Anna ends up forcibly confiding in Nukumizu, regretting her status as a childhood friend doomed to be robbed of her beloved.
Being drawn into Anna’s situation, Nukumizu soon becomes embroiled in the sentimental drama of two other girls: Lemon Yakishio, an extroverted member of the athletic club, and Chika Komari, a shy member of the literature club. Nukumizu steps out of her comfort zone and becomes an important character in the lives of too many loser heroines.
