As the third season of the anime adaptation of the light novel “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” comes to an end, the series’ respective official media has surprised the public by announcing the production of a new movie, which will cover the “Yotsuba Succession Arc” arc.
The announcement of the production of the new movie of the anime “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” was accompanied by an incredible promotional image, which stars the characters Tatsuya Shiba and Miyuki Shiba. At the moment not many details about the production of the new film of the series have been released, however, it is expected that as the months go by new information such as a possible release date and new promotions will be released.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei excites fans with announcement of new movie
The third season of the anime “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” (The Irregular at Magic High School) began broadcasting on television in Japan on April 5 this year. In addition, this installment of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei covered the arcs of the original light novel “Double Seven Arc”, “Steeplechase Arc” and “Ancient City Insurrection Arc”.
The production team involved in the production of the new season of the series was as follows: Jimmy Stone was in charge of directing. The animation studio 8-Bit returned to handle production. Taku Iwasaki was in charge of composing the soundtrack. Kana Ishida was in charge of character design.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, also known as The Irregular at Magic High School in the West, is a light novel written by Tsutou Satou and illustrated by Ishida Kana. The work was first published by ASCII Media Works‘ Dengeki Bunko publishing imprint on July 10, 2011 and would reach its end last September 10, 2020, counting a total of 32 published volumes.
On September 27, 2014, the light novel “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” premiered its respective anime adaptation, which consisted of a total of 52 episodes divided into 3 seasons and a movie. The animation studio Madhouse was in charge of the production of the first season, while the animation studio 8-Bit was in charge of the production of the second and third seasons.
“Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” plunges us into a world where magic has ceased to be mere folklore and has become a meticulously taught science and technology. At the First High School, an elite institution for magicians, students are sorted into two categories: the “Flourishing”, who stand out with high scores and are assigned to the prestigious First Grade, and the “Bad”, reserve students destined for the Second Grade.
At the heart of this story, we follow siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, who enter high school. Despite being prodigious in magic, Miyuki is placed in the First Grade, while Tatsuya, despite his exceptional skills in physical combat, advanced technical knowledge and unique magical techniques, is relegated to the Second Grade due to his low score in the theoretical exams.
As the Shiba brothers face the challenges of school, the narrative delves into the complexities of a hierarchical and discriminatory system, exploring Tatsuya’s struggle against the stigma of being considered a magical “weed.” With political intrigue, student rivalries and hidden secrets, “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” offers a unique experience by combining elements of science fiction, magic and drama, highlighting Tatsuya’s ability to defy expectations and prove his worth in a seemingly rigorous magical world.
