A little over 2 weeks ago the anime and manga franchise ‘Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete’ (Gushing Over Magical Girls) surprised fans with the incredible and long awaited announcement of its second season for the year 2025. A news that quickly caused a stir among fans of the saga and the magical girl genre due to the fact that this anime was a paradigm shift in how a ‘Mahou Shoujo’ story is told.
As expected, this important announcement also brought a few surprises that left the fans of ‘Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete’ who had the opportunity to attend this amazing reveal event in Japan very excited.
The announcement of the new season of ‘Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete’ was full of excitement and surprises for Japanese fans!
On October 5th in Tokyo, a significant event was held for the franchise ‘Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete’ (Gushing Over Magical Girls) where the production of a second season for the anime was finally announced, which would be airing somewhere in the year 2025. Beyond what many of our readers already know, as the official PV for this new production was revealed, there was a detail that caused a commotion due to the epic and ‘riko’ to which it gave rise.
What happened was that the event was also attended by the seiyuus Fuuka Izumi, Aoi Koga, Kaori Maeda, Misaki Ikeda and Mayuko Kazama who voice the 3 main members of the ‘Enormita’ organization, Utena Hiiragi, Kiwi Araga and Korisu Morino. As well as the 3 main ‘Three Magic’ girls they face, Magenta Magic, Blue Magic and Sulfur Magic.
While the voice actresses were on stage, they thanked the fans for their support for ‘Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete’, because as they mentioned, without all the great reception from the fans, this new season would not have been possible. They also expressed their experience of what it was like to work on this series, which they described as ‘fun and very challenging’ due to the ‘spicy’ nature of certain scenes.
That wasn’t all, as they also reviewed some of the scenes that became very iconic on social media, which caused even more hype among the attendees present at the event. The event itself had a very special touch because the fans attended with lightsticks as if it was an idol concert. Finally, the magical event ended with the announcement trailer of the second season amidst screams and applause of excitement.
It was certainly a very special event for all the fans of this series in Japan, as well as excellent news for all the otaku around the world who enjoyed the adventures and the scenes full of ‘deliciousness’ that Magia Baiser and her accomplices gave us. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to see Utena back in ‘Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete’ (Gushing Over Magical Girls).
