“Gushing Over Magical Girls” (Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete) premiered last season, and although it has already finished its broadcast, the mark it has left in the anime world is total, being that its “whimsical” story full of waifus and more than spicy moments has left thousands of happy fans around the world. But it seems that now the anime is involved in a controversy, since the well-known collective encyclopedia of the Internet known as TV Tropes has decided to remove all traces of this series from its page, claiming that Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete touches too controversial topics.
Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete is too bold for the Internet encyclopedia TV Tropes, which removes it from its website.
TV Tropes is a recognized collective encyclopedia, similar to what can be known as Wikipedia, but that focuses a lot on internet cultures and sayings used in casual situations, entering here media such as movies, series, video games or anime. And it is in this last aspect that the name of Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete, the renowned series released a few months ago that focuses on showing magical girls being tormented in the most “whimsical” way by a villain who actually loves them, has become a trend in recent hours.
Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete was characterized by showing a lot of “attributes” of the waifus present in the story, as well as situations which border on H, which when combined with the fact that all of them are high school students have generated many alerts, especially on this site, which has decided to eliminate any kind of information. The main reason is the above mentioned, which was even considered as H content that has as protagonists girls of a very young age, being this the most serious thing that is presented in the series, more than enough reason for TV Tropes to take the decision to eliminate it.
Now, the fans were the most affected by this news, and one of the strongest points of all is that this decision cannot be changed in any way, being definitive the elimination of Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete from the page. With this, the networks were flooded with all kinds of messages, including those who were most angry because although this anime was removed, many others that have a theme focused on “cravings” with characters that are still in school are still available on the page, so TV Tropes would not measure with the same yardstick.
Although Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete has managed to surprise many fans by the large amount of “cravings” that it lets us see in each of its chapters, there are many who still could not give it their due opportunity to enjoy it, that is why the best way to do it is from the recognized Anime Onegai platform. But there is even more, since it can be enjoyed in its original language in Japanese or also dubbed into English, with a work that surprises and captivates those who want to live this new experience or for those who want to repeat it.
For those who do not know the story of Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete, it introduces us to Utena Hiiragi, an ordinary girl whose only hobby is to love the “Magical Girls”, a group of heroines who protect their city from all kinds of evils, being that our protagonist will be closer than she thinks. One day, in front of her, a being that offers her magical powers appears, Utena accepts, but she does not become one of the girls she loves so much, but on the contrary, she is now part of the rival side.
Although at the beginning Utena is reluctant to be part of the enemy organization Enormita, with each combat she has with the “Magic Girls” of her city she will discover that she loves to inflict all kinds of hardships on them, especially those that border on the full-fledged H-style. This is why now our protagonist will fight against them with the sole purpose of approaching them and doing all kinds of “dirty” things thanks to her new powers that are precisely focused on domination and control.
