TBS surprised fans with a new trailer for the Live Action series inspired by the popular manga/anime “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san” (Teasing Master Takagi-san). The video is only 34 seconds long and shows us in more depth the relationship between the two main characters of the story.
Rui Tsukishima causes a sensation playing Takagi-san in Teasing Master Takagi-san
Rui Tsukishima (model of Shueisha’s Seventeen magazine) is the actress who will play Takagi-san in the Teasing Master Takagi-san Live Action series, while actor Souya Kurokawa is in charge of playing Nishikata.
Among the curiosities behind the production of this series is that the series was filmed on Shoudo Island, located in Kagawa Prefecture, a place that inspired the scenery seen in the previously released anime adaptation.
Although this is not the only detail to highlight, as the Japanese community praised Rui Tsukishima’s charming and teasing expressions that accurately reflect Takagi-san’s playful personality in Teasing Master Takagi-san.
Among the comments made by the Japanese community were “She is simply beautiful, this Takagi-san”, “Where were such kawaii girls when I was studying?”, “I’m afraid Takagi 3D will make fun of me” and “I would like to be insulted by her”.
Although not all comments are positive, there are those who are skeptical about the quality of the production and point out that it will be impossible to represent the expressiveness that the characters have in the manga and anime. However, there is a great wave of fans who are delighted with the choice of the main cast and like the fact that Rui Tsukishima played Takagi, although some have even joked that she needs to be “more “frentona”.
It remains to be noted that the Teasing Master Takagi-san Live Action series is scheduled to premiere next March 2024 on the popular streaming platform Netflix and it is unknown if it will be available globally on its release date in Japan or we will have to wait a few more weeks to see all the episodes.
For now, we can only be excited about how good the series looks with what has been shown so far and look forward to its big global premiere. And if you’re not so excited about the Live Action, the manga previously inspired an anime adaptation consisting of 3 seasons and 36 episodes.
