Konosuba! waifus to work as maids at event

An interesting collaboration with the anime adaptation of the light novel “KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world!” (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) has been presented in the official media of the Japanese retail chain “Gamers” in commemoration of the upcoming premiere of the third season of the series.

This special collaboration will consist of the opening of a “POP UP SHOP” store where various products inspired by the waifus of the Konosuba! franchise will be displayed: The goddess Aqua, the explosion-loving Archmage Megumin, the attractive and masochistic paladin Darkness and the Archmage daughter of the leader of the Crimson Demon Clan, Yunyun.

For this special collaboration between the anime Konosuba! and the Japanese retail chain “Gamers“, the waifus of the story will be presented in an attractive attire of a cafe/restaurant maid, where they will show their skills in serving customers. Some of the products on display at this special event will be the following: Large Size Towels, Cup Sets, Smartphone Straps, Acrylic Figurines, Tin Badges, Clear File A3, among other things.

In addition, it is important to highlight that the design of the characters Aqua, Megumin, Darkness and Yunyun corresponds to the version presented by the DRIVE animation studio, leaving behind the “Studio DEEN” style presented in previous collaborations.

As previously mentioned, this collaboration aims to promote the upcoming release of the third season of the anime KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world! which is scheduled to premiere in Japan next April this year. This new installment will be produced by DRIVE animation studio.

“Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!“, abbreviated as “Konosuba!“, is an isekai genre light novel authored by Natsume Akatsuki, while the illustrations are by Kurone Mishima. This fascinating light novel began publication under Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint of Kadokawa Publishing House on October 1, 2013, and concluded its exciting journey on May 1, 2020. During this time, Kadokawa Publishing published a total of 17 volumes, consolidating the narrative of this captivating world.

The story has also been translated into manga form, with the visual adaptation by the talented illustrator Masahito Watari. This manga first saw the light of day in the pages of Monthly Dragon Age magazine, under the editorial wing of Fujimi Shobo, starting in September 2014.

On January 13, 2016, the light novel Konosuba! premiered its anime adaptation, consisting of 2 seasons covering a total of 20 episodes, as well as 2 OVAs and a movie. The anime was produced by the renowned animation studio Studio Deen, under the direction of Takaomi Kanasaki. The series, which has gained popularity among anime fans, is available legally on the Crunchyroll platform and has an English dub.

Konosuba! introduces us to Kazuma Satou, our protagonist who on his shopping trip takes a dramatic turn when he sees a girl in danger of being run over by what he believes to be a truck. In a heroic – and unusual – act of bravery, he rushes in to save her, only to die… or at least that’s what he believes.

Contrary to his belief, Kazuma was not run over, but died of fright when he thought a slow-moving tractor was a truck in the middle of a race. This ridiculous ending, so absurd that even the doctors and his own family mocked him, leads our protagonist to wake up in an impressive and unknown room. There, he meets a beautiful goddess, Aqua, who, after mocking his death, offers him an irresistible proposal: a new life in a parallel fantasy universe.

In this new world, Kazuma would have the opportunity to live incredible adventures, face terrifying monsters, learn powerful magics and fight against a demon king, who rules this world. He would have to emerge as a true hero among heroes. And to help him in this epic, Aqua offers him a weapon, skill or object – even a being – to assist him in his journey.
