The movie of the anime Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid), titled Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Samishigariya no Ryuu (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved), is getting closer and closer to its theatrical release in Japan, so the first impressions are already being released.
On this occasion, Cool-kyou Shinja, the author of the original manga, gave his opinion after watching the movie, and through his personal X/Twitter account he expressed his feelings about the film (without going into much detail) and how this film managed to “move his heart”.
The author of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon was moved when he saw the movie.
As Cool-kyou Shinja points out on his personal X account, thanks to being involved in the film, he had the opportunity to attend a preview screening of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Samishigariya no Ryuu. In it, he states that, despite knowing the plot and being unconsciously prepared for what he would see, the film managed to move his heart.
Among other details, he points out that the result was something amazing, as if he had been hit by a dragon. He added: “If this is how the original author feels, all fans attending the film’s premiere will be deeply impacted by what they will see on screen.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Samishigariya no Ryuu (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved) will be released in theaters in Japan on June 27 this year. The animation studio Kyoto Animation is in charge of its production.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon has the following description:
As Kobayashi prepares to embark on a new day at work, she opens the door of her apartment and is met with an unusually terrifying sight: the head of a dragon staring down at her from the balcony. Immediately, the dragon transforms into a pretty, buxom, energetic young woman dressed as a maid, who introduces herself as Tohru.
It turns out that the stoic programmer had crossed paths with the dragon the night before on a drunken excursion into the mountains and, as the mythical beast had nowhere to go, had offered her a place to stay in her home. Thus, Tohru had arrived to take advantage of the offer, willing to reciprocate her savior’s kindness by working as her personal servant. Though deeply regretful of her words and reluctant to keep her promise, a mixture of guilt and Tohru’s incredible dragon skills convince Kobayashi to take the girl in.
Despite being extremely efficient at her job, the maid’s unorthodox methods of housekeeping often end up horrifying Kobayashi and, at times, bring more trouble than help. In addition, the circumstances behind the dragon’s arrival on Earth seem to be much more complicated than they appear at first glance, as Tohru carries some heavy emotions and painful memories. To make matters worse, Tohru’s presence ends up attracting several other mythical beings to his new home, bringing with it a host of eccentric personalities.
Although Kobayashi does her best to handle the crazy situation she has found herself in, nothing has prepared her for this new life with a dragon maiden.
