On July 10, the second season of KimiSen o Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen (Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World) began airing; however, this week, the anime production announced that as of episode five, it would be taking an indefinite break, which took the followers of this series by surprise. The second season of KimiSen will be delayed indefinitely.
The production committee of the KimiSen anime has announced that after the broadcasting of episode five of the second season, the anime will enter a pause with no definite date of resumption. The reason given for the pause is to ensure the quality of the production. To fill these spaces, while the remaining episodes of the second season are being worked on, episodes from the first season will be broadcasted.
The first season of KimiSen was broadcasted from October to December 2023, with 12 episodes, which at the time were broadcasted through Funimation in North America. Currently, Crunchyroll is the one who has the license to broadcast the series outside Japan. The music for the first part of KimiSen was provided by Seima Iwahashi, Ryōta Tomura and Ryūichirō Fujinaga, members of the Japanese group Elements Garden.
Previously, the second season of KimiSen had already been delayed; since it had originally been announced for 2023 and finally its premiere was made until July 2024. Let’s hope that with this hiatus, there will be no more mishaps in the future and the season can end without major inconveniences. In this way, fans of the series will finally be able to enjoy this story without any more pauses.
Silver Link and Studio Palette, are the studios in charge of bringing to us the anime adaptation of KimiSen. The directors who have participated in this series are Shin Ōnuma and Mirai Minato for season one and Yuki Inaba for season two. On the other hand, the script for the first season was made by Kento Shimoyama and for the second season, Studio Palette itself has been in charge of developing it.
The character design for KimiSen was done by Kaori Sato for the first season and for the second season of KimiSen, Kaori Yoshihara, was responsible for this. KimiSen has a large number of producers, including this long list of names:

If you still don’t know what KimiSen’s story is about, here we follow Iska who, as a punishment for freeing a witch, is imprisoned receiving a life sentence. However, a year after this event, he is released on one condition; he must defeat a witch named Alice, who is known as the “Ice Calamity Witch“. Iska accepts, but in exchange he requests that his former companions become part of his team.
Said companions are Jhin Syulargun, Mismis Klass and Nene Alkaston. KimiSen are originally light novels written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe. Fujimi Shobo, a company specializing in light novel publishing, has released fifteen volumes under Kadokawa Corporation. In May 2018, a manga adaptation of KimiSen by okama began to be published in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine.
