New information about the anime adaptation of the light novel Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru (From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman) has been released to the public. Among these new updates is the premiere date of the series, which is scheduled to begin broadcasting on Japanese television on April 5, 2025.

Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru, also known as From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman in the West, is a light fantasy adventure novel that is written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. The work began publication at Square Enix publisher Square Enix’s SQEX Novel imprint from April 2021. Currently, Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru is still in publication and has 8 volumes released in total.
The light novel Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru has a manga adaptation, which began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Dokodemo Young Champion service in August 2021.
