After 10 published chapters, the romantic comedy manga Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo, with a story that has conquered hearts and won many readers since its publication, has announced its end. This work was created by the mangaka Musawo, who is also the author of the romantic comedy manga Koi to Uso (Love and Lies), however, this new manga has come to an end suddenly and in a few chapters.
Last chapter and final volume of Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo manga announced
Last September 9, fans of Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo received the sad news that the manga had reached its final chapter, in a statement through the manga’s official Twitter/X, where it was announced that the last chapter of the manga was published in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. This manga by Musawo, creator also of the popular Koi to Uso manga, had introduced us to a unique love story that captured the attention of many readers with its intriguing story of a teenager who experiences a surprising gender swap during his first romance.
Throughout its pages, readers had accompanied the protagonists on their journey of self-discovery and also witnessed a relationship that kept readers turning page after page in each chapter of the manga. Thanks to the combination of romance, comedy and a change of genre found in the Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo manga, this combination began to gain a large fan base that looked forward to each new chapter of the manga month after month.
However, despite the success and affection of the fans, Musawo decided to put an end to the manga, with a publication on his Twitter/X addressed to his followers, expressing his gratitude for the support received and mentioning that, although he feels sad to say goodbye to these characters, he believes it is the best decision for the story. Musawo also mentioned that perhaps she made some mistakes in the development of the story, but that she learned a lot from this experience and that she is excited to start new projects.
In addition, it was announced that the final volume of Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo, will be available from November and will include chapters 8 to 10, the manga has so far had two volumes, published the first volume on September 8, 2023 and the second volume on April 9, 2024, respectively. The third and final volume, which will include chapters 8 to 10, will be published on November 8, 2024.
The story of Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo, centers on Hodaka Akizuki, a 17-year-old high school student, who is in love with Chihaya Shishizaki, the “madonna” of the school. One day, Hodaka confesses his feelings to Chihaya, and she accepts, officially making them a couple. However, after sharing their first kiss, Hodaka experiences an unexpected change, his body transforming due to Chihaya’s mysterious power. Thus begins a romantic comedy full of surprises and discoveries, as Hodaka and Chihaya navigate the challenges of their unusual relationship.
