The official website of Japanese publisher Kodansha has unveiled the official cover of the 26th compilation volume of the romantic comedy manga Kakkou no Iinazuke (A Couple of Cuckoos), a work written and illustrated by Yoshikawa Miki. The cover illustration of this volume will feature characters Erika Amano and Sachi Umino.
According to the information presented in the official media of the Kodansha publishing house, this new volume of the Kakkou no Iinazuke manga is scheduled to be released for sale in stores and bookstores in Japan on January 17, 2025. It was also specified that this volume will contain a total of 192 pages.

Kakkou no Iinazuke, also known as “A Couple of Cuckoos” in the West, is a romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa. The work began publication in Kodansha Publishing House’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in January 2020. Currently, Kodansha has released a total of 24 compilation volumes of the Kakkou no Iinazuke manga.
Thanks to the good reception from the public, in April 2021, the production of an anime adaptation for Miki Yoshikawa’s manga was announced.
On April 23, 2022, the manga Kakkou no Iinazuke premiered its anime adaptation which was composed of a total of 24 episodes that have been divided into 2 parts. In addition, the animation studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP were in charge of the production under the direction of Akagi Horaki. The series is legally available on the Crunchyroll platform and has an English dub.
The anime Kakkou no Iinazuke will have a Second Season
In July of this year, the respective official media of the anime series “Kakkou no Iinazuke” announced the news of the production of a second season. Along with this news, it was confirmed that this new installment of the series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in the course of the year 2025.
The manga Kakkou no Iinazuke has the following description: All the members of the Umino family are quite alike: energetic and incredibly dynamic, except Nagi, a serious and introverted young man whose only concern is his studies. He is quite the opposite of someone like his younger sister Sachi, who is a reflection of their extroverted parents. So it’s no wonder that Nagi was swapped for another baby at birth.
On his way to meet his real parents, Nagi meets Erika Amano, a young social media star. While spending the day with her, he learns that Erika’s parents forced her to get married. That same day, Nagi learns that Erika’s fiancé is none other than himself, so that he can officially become part of the other’s family.
In order to cement their relationship, Nagi’s biological father arranges for the fiancé and fiancée to start living together. However, no matter how many tricks his parents play, Nagi refuses to marry Erika. He already has his sights set on someone else: the attractive and intelligent Hiro Segawa.
