The renowned publisher Kodansha has surprised fans of the “A Couple of Cuuckos” (Kakkou no Iinazuke) franchise by presenting the official cover of the #21 compilation volume of the original manga written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa.
The cover was presented in the official media of the publisher Kodansha and also in the official Twitter/X account of Miki Yoshikawa, and according to the information presented by the publisher, this volume will be released for sale in bookstores in Japan next February 16 this year. The cover illustration of this volume will feature the character Sachi Umino, who has been surrounded in a winter environment where the falling snow gives a spectacular touch to the cover.

But that’s not all, as the official website of the publisher Kodansha announced that the 21st compilation volume of the manga Kakkou no Iinazuke will have a special edition that will include a collector’s book. This book will contain inside a variety of illustrations of the female protagonist of the story, Erika Amano, and the cover illustration of this special edition has also been presented.
Kakkou no Iinazuke, also known as “A Couple of Cuckoos” in the West, is a romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa. The work began publication in Kodansha Publishing House’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in January 2020. Currently, Kodansha Publishing has released a total of 20 compilation volumes of the Kakkou no Iinazuke manga for sale.
On April 23, 2022, the manga A Couple of Cuuckos released its anime adaptation which was composed of a total of 24 episodes that have been divided into 2 parts. In addition, the animation studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP were in charge of the production under the direction of Akagi Horaki. The series is legally available on the Crunchyroll platform and has an English dub.
Kakkou no Iinazuke presents the story of Nagi Umino and Erika Amano, two young women whose fates are unexpectedly intertwined. Nagi, an ordinary high school student, and Erika, a prominent social media star, suddenly find themselves confronted with a startling fact: they were switched at birth.
When the news shocks both families, an unusual proposal looms over Nagi and Erika without their prior knowledge. In an attempt to restore family harmony and ensure everyone’s happiness, their parents propose an unusual compromise: that Nagi and Erika become engaged to each other and be returned to their respective biological families.
However, Nagi and Erika find themselves at odds with this plan drawn up without their consent. Both strongly resist, refusing to conform to their parents’ wishes. Given the obstinacy of both parties, time becomes the sole judge of the evolution of their relationship and the fate that awaits them.
