Kakao Entertainment seeks to remove Tachiyomi app for alleged piracy

In previous events, this Korean company, Kakao Entertainment, has proven to defend well the copyrights of Mangas, Comics and works that have been taken by piracy, although in a rough way, it is something that has been applauded and booed by both sides. This time, the warning is for an android application, called Tachiyomi, which collects different works from different sites to offer an extensive catalog to its users.

Kakao Entertainment warns Tachiyomi app about copyrights in its manga and comics.

After years of functioning as a defender of copyrights, shutting down different pirate applications that roam the internet. Kakao Entertainment now presents us with a warning (and lashing out) against the Tachiyomi app, which has had series such as Solo Leveling in its lines, which is part of Kakao, something that does not please the company, how will it act?

In its warning, Kakao Entertainment shows that it has full control of Tachiyomi’s staff information, offering it one last chance, not only to pull much of its catalog of Mangas, Manhwas and Webtoon comics, but the application in its full existence, something that, may be called justice, but its fans don’t see it this way. A thread has been opened full of fans from the app’s community to defend this case.

The comments are cruel, some simple insults, others claim that, on Tachiyomi’s part, there is a way to take on projects without offending his copyrights, since the app offers no purchases, it’s free, plus his loyal fans offer words of encouragement for the manga app. As we said not long ago, Kakao Entertainment did one of its greatest feats, closing a site full of Japanese series and comics filled with thousands of these, something we have detailed in depth in this note on our page.

Tachiyomi has lost certain things from its libraries, some privileges, but, incredibly, the community has raised a campaign to defend the content of the application, claiming that it is completely legal, something you can see in their Twitter/X, where the thread of this confrontation of big companies is carried out long and hard; a battle of morals and laws.

We all know that many pages coexist in the internet world, some more legal than others, but that their purpose of sharing some series, manga and comics is nothing more than a contribution for the community, for people who can’t afford monthly fees or who are not old enough. We also agree that stealing content, profiting and creating your own emporium with other people’s material, is a complete damage, an irreverence called true piracy.
