Junior High School DxD to get its long-awaited manga adaptation

As some of you may recall, yesterday the official media of the High School DxD franchise announced that an important announcement would be made on November 17th. Without going into too much detail about what it would be about, it was only specified that the announcement would be focused on Junior High School DxD, the new spin-off of the original light novel.

It’s been several hours since this incredible news was released and the official media of High School DxD delivered as promised and this important announcement was about the upcoming serialization of a manga adaptation of Junior High School DxD.

According to the information presented on High School DxD’s X account, this manga adaptation will be published in Monthly Dragon Age magazine and the illustrations will be done by Ojo, an author of H doujins. New information about the publication of the manga adaptation of Junior High School DxD will be announced soon.

Information on High School DxD:

High School DxD is a light novel that combines fantasy elements with ecchi and harem genres. It was written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. The work first saw the light of day in September 2008 under Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint, and reached its conclusion in March 2018. Subsequently, a sequel titled ‘Shin High School DxD’ was released in July 2018.

On 17 May this year, the High School DxD franchise made its return with its new spin-off ‘Junior High School DxD’. This spin-off is supervised by Ichiei Ishibumi and written by Rippu Shinonome, while the illustrations will be handled by Miyama-Zero.

This story was also adapted into a manga, with illustrations by Hiroji Mishima. The manga was published in Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Age magazine from July 2010 and came to an end in February 2018.

On 6 January 2012, the light novel ‘High School DxD’ made the leap to the screen with its anime adaptation. This adaptation consisted of a total of 4 seasons, totalling 49 episodes, as well as several specials and 4 OVAs. The animation studio TNK was in charge of producing the first three seasons of the series, while the animation studio Passione took over the reins for the fourth season.

The anime High School DxD has the following description: it tells the story of Issei Hyoudou, a high school student whose desire to form a harem leads him to spy on women, being portrayed as a young man with no direction in life. However, his fate takes an unexpected turn when an attractive young woman proposes a date, later revealing her true identity as a fallen angel and ending up brutally attacking him.

Fortunately, the narrative takes a new turn when Rias Gremory, a senior student and high-ranking demon, decides to grant Issei a second chance, reviving him as her servant. Issei joins the school’s enigmatic Occult Research Club and begins an exciting journey.

Throughout this fascinating journey, Issei finds himself immersed in a world inhabited by angels and demons, where confrontations and training are commonplace. Adapting to his new role, Issei is drawn into a sphere full of mystery and danger, sharing exciting and sometimes suggestive moments with his eccentric companions.

The plot not only delves into the fantastic and the supernatural, but also explores the duality between innocence and seduction. Issei is forced to keep his new life a secret from friends and family, creating a delicate balance between his day-to-day life and the daring adventures that await him in this enigmatic universe.
