For several months now, Gege Akutami, mangaka of “Jujutsu Kaisen“, has had the followers of this series on the edge of their seats due to the events that took place in the manga. It has been quite a hectic few weeks for both readers and the author himself, and as we have seen on several occasions, this work is quite a heavy occupation, so the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen had to take a break from his work for health reasons.
Gege Akutami took a break from Jujutsu Kaisen to take care of his health.
Every week in Weekly Shonen Jump, we have a new chapter of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which usually generates quite a stir among the followers of this franchise. This week the exciting 262nd chapter of the manga was released and with it, the announcement that Gege Akutami would take a two-week break for health reasons, so unfortunately we will not have new chapters of the manga during these weeks. This news was something that took by surprise the Jujutsu Kaisen fans who were expecting to continue reading this story to know how the hard fight against Sukuna, King of curses, would continue.
Through social networks, there were different reactions from this community. Some people lamented Gege Akutami’s health condition, wishing him a speedy recovery and expressed that they would wait with excitement for his return to continue reading one more chapter of this manga arc that has kept us hooked for several months now. There were also fans who wished that whatever the mangaka’s health problem was, it was nothing serious and he could return to his work without any problems. Some people even tried to make jokes about it, saying that he had taken this break so that he could think about which character to revive next.
However, also some fans did not take this in a very good way and expressed their opinion saying that manga authors are weak people, since normally an illness does not last that long, that all Gege Akutami would have to do is draw a few pages and the team he works together with would take care of the rest. To this argument, many people responded that they did not really believe that the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen had a large team, but that it was only a small group of assistants and that already, in itself, creating a manga is physically exhausting work.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s popularity has been on the rise due to its interesting plot, especially in this developing arc, where for several months now the fight with Sukuna has been going on, which has constantly put our characters through some pretty tough times. Truly, this arc has Jujutsu Kaisen fans waiting for what Gege Akutami has in mind to give conclusion to his story, as it seems that our protagonist has a very difficult task in front of him in order to be victorious in this long fight.
In 2023, the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen anime was aired, which also had a lot of recognition in the anime community, earning it awards as the anime of the year in the Crunchyroll Awards. Currently, there is no news about a third season, however, due to the success that this franchise has acquired lately, we could practically assure that a continuation of its anime adaptation is something imminent. It is estimated that we will have news about it next year, so let’s continue to wait for a confirmation from official sources.
