With the conclusion of the main storyline, the X account of the popular shonen manga Jujutsu Kaisen, created by Gege Akutami, has unveiled the official covers of volumes 29 and 30 to the public. This time, the cover of volume 29 will feature Sukuna, while the final volume will feature Yuuji Itadori as the central figure.
Additionally, the publisher Shueisha announced on its official website that both final volumes of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga will be published simultaneously. They are scheduled for release on 25 December, and will be available in shops and bookstores in Japan on that date.
Jujutsu Kaisen manga unveiled the official covers of its final volumes
Jujutsu Kaisen is a shonen manga that combines action and fantasy and is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. The literary work began its serialisation in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018 and ended on 30 September this year. Currently, Shueisha has released a total of 28 collected volumes and a while back it was reported that the work managed to surpass an impressive 90 million in circulation.
On October 2, 2020, the manga Jujutsu Kaisen will release an anime adaptation that consisted of 2 seasons (47 episodes in total) and a movie titled ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’. The anime was produced by the animation studio MAPPA under the direction of Sunghoo Park. The series is available legally on the Crunchyroll platform and features an English dub of the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen has the following description: Yuuji Itadori, a high school student, is involved in paranormal activities with the Occult Club and spends his days at the club or at the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this quiet lifestyle soon takes a turn for the bizarre when he unknowingly finds a cursed object.
Triggering a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji suddenly finds himself immersed in the world of curses (terrible beings formed from human evil and negativity) after swallowing the object, which turns out to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the King of Curses.
Yuuji experiences first-hand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, he begins to walk a path from which he cannot return: the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer.
